The next day, I normally walked to Ruko's house. As I arrived, my expression immediately darkened. "What are you doing here?!," Kasumi asked sternly. "Well, the question is... What are you doing in here?!," I asked back. "Answer me first!," Kasumi demanded. "I'm obviously here to walk with him to school," I replied. "Well, that's not happening because I'm walking with him to school!," Kasumi said as she crossed her arms. I sighed. "Did you knock on the door?," I asked. "Yeah, I did. But no one opened the door," Kasumi replied. "Let me try...," I mumbled as I knocked on the door.

"Ruko are you in there?!," I yelled. "Yes, I'm inside!," Ruko yelled back. Kasumi gazed at me in shock. "H-how come you didn't reply when I asked?!," Kasumi yelled. The door opened and Ruko walked out of his house. "Ahh... I'm really sorry, I'm used to walking with Akari to school," Ruko explained. "Well...! We are best friends...! Right...?!," Kasumi asked. "When we were young... We were best friends when we were young," Ruko corrected. "But can't I walk with you?," Kasumi asked. "Well, you could walk with the two of us," Ruko replied. "I mean you and me, just the two of us," Kasumi clarified. "It's either you walk with us as a trio, or walk by yourself to school," Ruko said. "S-seriously?!," Kasumi stammered. Ruko stared at her, as if he was waiting for an answer. Kasumi sighed. "Never mind!" She walked away.

"Wow... I never thought that you would reject her," I said. "Yeah... It's just that... She's really clingy," Ruko shrugged. "Well, yeah... That is a fact...," I mumbled. "Anyway, aren't we supposed to walk to school?," Ruko asked. "Oh, yeah...! Let's go!," I said as we walked to school together.

Class was dismissed when Kasumi approached Ruko. "Ruko! Do you have any plans on the weekend?," Kasumi asked, fidgeting with her violet colored pen. "Hmm? Ah, no... I don't have anything to do this weekend," Ruko replied. "So... Are you available on Saturday?," Kasumi asked. Ruko sighed. "I just said I don't have anything to do this weekend...!," Ruko replied. "Well... I was thinking of-!" "Well, actually... I have plans this weekend... I'm really sorry for the delay," Ruko said as he walked out of the classroom. I walked after him. "Hey... Are you okay?," I asked, fixing my book bag. "Yeah... I just... I just don't want to be with her...," Ruko replied. "Why don't you just tell her?," I asked. He glanced at me with no reply. After several minutes of walking, he finally spoke. "I just don't want to hurt her," Ruko mumbled. I glanced at him in surprise.

"Do you... Like her...?," I asked. "What?! Of course not! You think I would?!," Ruko replied immediately. I sighed. Yeah... He do like her... Although he rejects her I'm sure he still likes her... My heart suddenly felt numb. I guess there's no use with walking with him all the time anymore. Though we are friends, I just walk with him to be closer and to get to know him even better. I continued walking silently with a blank expression and blank mind.
