"she don't really like it, but she needs me, yeah"
the pair headed back to layla's hotel after arguing the whole car ride over where to get pizza from. in the end they compromised on dominos, but layla swore she'd get her pick next time.
"so spence, any movies in mind?" layla asked as she climbed out of her car and clicked the remote to lock it.
spencer shrugged, "i mean, i recently heard about a documentary on lactose intolerance, but you probably wouldn't be super into that."
layla giggled, "yeah, i'm sure lactose intolerance fascinates some people, but i am not one of them," she joked with a smile.
reid nodded, "okay, how about a horror film," he suggested.
layla scrunched up her nose, "our job is enough horror for me," she replied as they got into the elevator to head to the fourth floor.
reid chuckled, "i guess you're right."
"oh! how about a romance," layla offered, wiggling her brows.
"i dunno lay, sounds kind of cheesy," reid countered jokingly.
layla scoffed, "um, excuse you, the notebook is a classic."
reid shrugged, "how about one of those movies like mean girls," he suggested.
layla's eyes lit up at the idea. "yes, yes, yes! we can watch legally blonde!"
reid nodded, "that's fine with me."
the elevator dinged as the doors opened and they walked out, layla grinning and rambling about elle woods while spencer nodded in amusement.
"i'll order the pizza spence. you can find the movie." layla said after unlocking the door to her hotel room.
reid nodded and walked over to the tv to grab the remote. then he sat on the only bed in the small, one person hotel room and started to look for somewhere to rent the movie. after ordering a large pizza to share with spencer, layla plopped down on the bed next to him.
"did you find it?" she asked casually.
spencer nodded, "yeah. i was waiting for you to come in here to start it."
layla laughed slightly as she smiled, "such a gentleman."
the movie started and layla absentmindedly leaned into spencer, resting her head on his shoulder. reid felt his heart beating miles per minute, hoping layla couldn't hear it. he tried to stay focused on elle woods, but all he could think about was how she smelled like strawberries and honey.
