It's been about two weeks since I got out of the hospital. I'm now on anti-depressants. Not that they helped. I actually think they made it worse. But whatever.
I'm at Mikey's house, playing skyrim. Or rather, watching HIM play skyrim. He hasn't let me touch it. I laugh out loud as does for what must be the tenth time. He punches my shoulder.
"Like you can do better!"
I punch him back. "I could if you let me try you dinkleberry!"
He literally throws the controller at me, and I press restart. I survive a lot longer than Mikey and reach levels he never has. He starts to pout and I laugh. I'm about to say something about it when his mom yells for us to come to dinner.
I sit at the table, kinda excited to see Gerard. Then I think. Why the hell am I so excited to see Gerard? Probably because he's my only friend, other than Mikey. Yea, that's it.
I notice that theres only three places set. Then I notice that Gerard isn't there.
"Where's Gerard?" I try to sound casuals out it. Wait, why wouldn't it be causal?!
"Oh, he left...." Mikey's voice is quiet.
"Left? Left where?"
Their mom walks in and answers for Mikey.
"He left to explore the world. That's all. Now let's pray." She smiles and I relax. He'll be back, right? He has to be. He will be.
After a DELICIOUS dinner, Mikey and I go back to play skyrim. After a while, he pauses the game and looks at me.
"Gerard didn't leave to explore the world. He ran away. Said he couldn't take living with mom and dad, couldn't stand pretending I be something he wasn't. He said he loved me, and he said to tell you bye. Haven't heard from him since." His voice is quiet.
"When he'd leave?" My words sound flat.
"That day at the hospital. He also told me to tell you to look in your backpack, he left something. "
Mikey doesn't say another word, so we just sit and play skyrim.
