The sky was an inky black, no stars decorating the sky.  Clouds hung dangerously low, threatening rainfall.

You sat atop the horse Philip had ridden over to your home while he walked beside you. A comfortable silence enveloped the both of you.

"Philip, if you'd like you can ride the horse now," you suggested, trying to start a conversation.

Philip shook his head, smiling up at you. "I want you to be as comfortable as possible," he replied.

Small droplets of rain began to sprinkle from the sky, lightly coating your shivering figure in dewdrops.

"You're shivering," Philip stated.

You nodded slowly, holding out your hand so that you could touch the rain.  It dripped down your arm slowly, the moment almost making you forget about the previous events.

Philip wrapped his coat around you similar to how he had before. The warmth of his jacket soothed your shivering form, and you sighed in contentment.

"Thank you for everything," you spoke to Philip, a faint smile forming on your lips.

"I'd do anything for you. I would kill somebody if I had to!" he proclaimed, making you giggle happily.

"Don't you suppose that's a bit drastic? We're only 19," you reminded him.

"Yeah, I'm gonna be graduating from college soon, it would idiotic of me to make such decisions," he remembered. He looked ahead at the trail, darkness surrounding everything the eyes could see.

You weren't sure how he was navigating himself, but he seemed to manage without any difficulty.

"Do you think your family will he fine with me staying over? Just until I figure out my own arrangements of course," you told Philip, he chuckled at this.

"Do you honestly think we'd let you go out into the world alone? You live with us now, and I doubt they'd have any problem with it, they love you."

The door of the Hamilton residence slowly swung open, Eliza greeting you with a worried expression.

"(Y/n), what on Earth are you doing here at this ungodly hour?" She questioned, ushering you inside. She sat you and Philip by the fireplace, then ran off to fetch you some tea.

"You'll be happy with us. I promise," Philip said, placing his hand a top your own cautiously.

You melted into his touch, slowly dropping yourself so that your head rested on his shoulder. He placed his head a top your own, rubbing your hand with his thumb.

Now you could truly live your life.
