                          I walked you home that night, slowly. 
                           You thanked me for the day and I only smiled in return because the only gratitude being conveyed was supposed to be mine for your time. 

                          You hugged me and I stiffened in my position before I reached out to envelope your tiny self in my arms, clinging onto the warmth you gave me.
                          You smelled of lilies. 
                          "Thank You." You whispered into my ears one last time before heading inside while I waited until the light in your room went on and then went home with a persisting smile on my face.
