                                                                               Information

125 million years ago in Montana and Utah, there was a swift animal that grew up to 3.4 metres and resembled the terrifying "raptors" from Jurassic Park. The Deinonychus atirrhopus preyed on animals like Tenontosaurus tiletti, an 8-metre long dinosaur with a long, sinewy tail. It is thought to have herded like modern day cows. The cow-like animal with a bullwhip for a tail, and the feathered ninjas have been buried together in many occasions. How would one of these fights go. Well, maybe like this.

                                                                                   The fight

She looked off the small cliff. There, a perfect target to attack. A lone male Tenontosaurus wandering, dazed and confused. She didn't know how he got lost, but she didn't care. She alerted her pack. She was the largest, a female Deinonychus. They got up, ready to rumble. Light-footed, they scampered down the mountainside, toe claws ready. Finally they spotted their target. But he felt something was wrong. Suddenly, they attacked. But one of the more inexperienced males wasn't wary enough. "WAP!" The Tenontosaurus whip his tail as a defensive reflex. The Deinonychus's hollow arm bones break with the whip of the tail. Then, it smashes into a nearby tree, breaking the ribs and damaging the lungs. Heavily breathing, the male watches his world fade away. He tries to stand up but falls down again. He cries out in pain. He then rests his head, closing his eyes for the last times. Another Deinonychus bites the throat of the Tenontosaurus and it rears up in pain and tries to kick the Deinonychus with its front legs. But then, the female jumps up on  the Tenontosaurus's back as more and more Deinonychus climb up, only to be thrown down to the ground again. This time though, they are more cautious and steer clear of the tail. The female suddenly jerks her toe claw into the Tenontosaurus neck. It falls down, smothering three Deinonychus. But the Deinonychus have gained their kill, although they have lost three members of their pack.
