Snow fluttered down from the clouds on a bright winter's day. December was coming to a close and the new year would soon be upon everyone. Aaron was admiring the snow from his new office window. He was currently pushing in extra boxes from Hercules' truck. It was an odd time to move but the perfect apartment had opened up. Enough space for Hercules to have a weight room and Aaron could have his full office back.

Hercules was in the new living room with their cat, Cola. Now you have to know that the cat was not Aaron's idea. He in fact used to be more of a dog person. He looked through the doorway at his boys. He smiled at his family and looked back at the box he was unpacking. Inside there was a picture of Aaron for his business card as a lawyer. The date was marked 5/13/15. About two to three years ago. He sat down and remembered how that was the day their family grew.

It had been a warm, summer day. Aaron had a quick chat with Alexander before heading home to his quite cramped apartment. He was in a somewhat good mood, which after a chat with Alex was very rare. While driving home his phone rang out. Luckily he was at a red light. He recognized the ringtone, "Nancy Mulligan" he said accepting the call. "Hello?" He asked, driving forward.

"Hey, baby!" Hercules said in a particularly chipper voice. "How was work?" He asked, biting his lip. Thoughts raced through his head. If Aaron didn't have a good day this conversation was gonna go south, and fast.

"Eh, same old, but I guess it was a little better than most days. Luckily for me, Hamil- oh sorry, Alex lost his voice so for once I was the one speaking in the courtroom." He chuckled, he was no longer allowed to call him Hamilton since Hercules was a close friend of Alexander, and of course, Burr respected that.

"Oh well, I'm so happy you had a great day. I have a really important question for you hun. Are you driving?" He asked he did not want Burr getting hurt.

"I am driving but it's no worries. What, did you adopt a baby?" He said laughing, pulling to a stop sign, taking a sip of coffee.

"Well, I guess in a way, I kinda did..." Hercules said chuckling, "Pretty funny how ya guessed, right hun?" He said, less sure of how Aaron would react, but he realized he had to explain. "By adoption I mean-"

Aaron hung up.

That's all he did.

Adoption?!?

Had Hercules lost his mind? Aaron hung his head on the steering wheel and turned the car around. He was right in front of their apartment building. He could make out Hercules' figure holding something in his arms. Burr shook his head and stayed in his car. He checked the time, 5:45 pm. He turned the car around and drove to a cozy bar on the outskirts of town.

It had a rustic feel to it. He didn't really like the people there, just a bartender who had helped him through a lot. He scanned the bar and his eyes caught a brunette behind the bar, mixing a drink. Her bright red dress stood out from the others black drab uniforms. A wide smile formed on her bright red lips as she pushed someone away from the bar, making a seat for Aaron and getting out the good stuff.

"Hey Maria," Burr said taking off his coat and placing it on the bar. He sat and buried his head in his hands. Maria looked at him while she took a shot.

"Okay, you haven't even picked up your whiskey yet, something is very wrong. What's up?" She asked refilling her shot glass. She took another shot. "Oh, and congrats, by the way."

"You know?" He asked, taking the shot. He groaned the set his head on the table. "He's my boyfriend and I'm the last person to know."

"Not everyone knows, Peggy had to cancel our lunch date for a meeting and ran into Herc who has just adopted the cutie. Then they stopped at Laf and Angie's place to get some necessities and then he went to your house. Peggy came in maybe an hour ago to go on and on about how adorable and fluffy it was." She smiled and blushed, "She's just the best!"

Aaron's head rose from the counter. "Fluffy? What do you mean fluffy? Did adopt a baby sasquatch?" He asked chuckling. He poured and took another shot.

"Have you been home since this morning?" She asked in a sassy tone.

'Uh well not really but the-" Aaron couldn't finish his sentence because Maria walked out of the bar, gave him his coat and pushed him out the door saying he would thank her later by buying her Jimmy Johns.

After a quick drive home, he unlocked the door to find Hercules making dinner. Hercules shot him a nasty glare. Aaron felt his heart sink.

He walked over to see a bright white cat on the couch. Now Burr had never liked cats, but the look of this one's golden eyes just made his heart melt. He looked at Hercules.

"I'm sorry. You know me with children ever since-" he sighed. He had lost his child sister, Theodosia, when her sailboat capsized and she passed away. They never found the body.

To Aaron's surprise, Hercules engulfed him in a huge hug. "I'm sorry hun, I should've worded it better."

Back to today, Aaron looked up from the business card. Hercules forgave him, no fights, no nothing. He walked over to his boys. He patted Cola and softly kissed Hercules. "I love you two."

Aaron walked over, along with Cola, to the kitchen to grab a drink. He grabbed some limoncello and began to pour it. As he did, Hercules' voice rang out.

"Hey babe!" he called, "What do you think about setting Cola up with Eliza's cat and having kittens? It'll be practice for when we have kids!"

"Kids?" Burr called out, dropping the glass crystal cup on the counter, causing the breaking into a million pieces that flooded into the sink.

Hercules raced in, "What the heck happened here?" He asked, semi-smiling.

"Ya know what," Aaron said, "The cat did it." and he laughed as he picked up Cola to go watch a movie with Hercules.
