Today was going to be a relaxing day I decided. Life has been hell for Aaron, he deserves a day of relaxing. No fighting, no stress, nothing.
A creak made me look away from the Stove where I had been trying to nurse the perfect pancake. Aaron stood at the kitchen door still looking sleepy with one of my sweaters sliding off his shoulders. I watched him bring one of his small hands to his mouth as he yawned. He dropped it and stared at me. "What are you doing?" I shivered at his sleepy voice and slid the pancake onto a plate next to scrambled eggs and Aaron's favorite, syrup soaked toast.
"I made you breakfast." I smiled.
He watched me set the plate on the table before the most beautiful smile crossed his face. "All my favorites?" He teased. "I didn't know you were such a good house wife."
I laughed and pulled him toward the table. "You can judge me after you eat. It took me forever to make that pancake." I never cooked, it was a wonder I had even made one. I grimaced at the thought of all the half cooked or burnt pancakes that now resided in the trashcan. It was for the better good, rest in peace.
Aaron slid into a chair and I groaned internally as the sweater rides up his thigh. Is he even wearing anything under that? I hoped not.
He took his fork and cut into the pancake to humor me. He tilted his head back in thought as he took a bite and moaned. "It's good!"
I sighed and relaxed. Taking a seat next to him, I watched him eat. Aaron ate large messy bites, but I couldn't find it in myself to be concerned when he looked so cute. When he was finished he leaned back and sighed. "I'm so full."
I took his plate and dropped it into the sink. Arms wrapped around me from behind and I felt Aaron rub his face against my back. I adored how he showed his affection with touch. I loved every moment he touched my hand or pressed his face into my chest or even climbed into my lap. I loved it all. "What's on the agenda?" He mumbled.
"What do you want to do?"
"A bath sounds nice." He sighed. "We aren't in a hurry anywhere today right?"
"No, come on, I'll run you one." He followed close behind, his hand on my shirt. I pulled the bubble bath that Aaron had bought yesterday and opened the cap. Lavender. I felt his eyes on me as I tested the warmth of the water before pouring in the soap. When it was filled I stood up to leave.
"You're not going to join me?" Aaron frowned.
"Do you want me to?"
He only smiled.
I watched him pull off his sweater and felt myself react. He didn't have anything else under it. I quickly undressed and slid into the hot water first. The tub was small so I had to bend my legs but Aaron fit nearly between them. He pressed his back to my chest and rested his head on my shoulder before closing his eyes. I ran my hands over his arms and flinched remembering when he had woken from his coma. He had lost so much weight. I had looked like a walking stick. But now he had a healthy glow and had filled out. I continued my venture over his chest remembering how my hands had felt on each on his ribs. I still felt them now but in a healthy way. I couldn't feel them individually and it relaxed me. His once shriveled stomach was now full and flat. I ran my hands over his beautiful thighs and smiled. My favorite part of him. Next to his face anyway.
I loved how he kept them silky smooth like like the rest of him. I didn't even remember him having hair below his head. I moved to his knees and ran my thumbs over the soft pale skin. Aaron was pale. But not in a unhealthy way. He had spent years sick and now that he was getting better, it was winter.
