Ironwood's Appearance

Rowan's POV

Waking up, I get out of bed and check on the Fall Maiden's machine and go through the regular diagnostics.

Our date last night certainly was splendid. I hope to be able to go out with her some more before we really get busy. I think, before Ozpin's voice over the intercom comes in through the loudspeakers again.

"Omega, report to my office. We haven't finished our meeting from yesterday. It's about General and Headmaster Ironwood from Atlas Academy." Ozpin says before cutting off. Why have a meeting about him?... Oh right. I never told them I keep track of every one of our little circle member's locations at all times. I think before putting on my usual red shirt, brown khakis and black combat boots attire, and get in the elevator to head to Ozpin's Office.

The elevator doors open. "Yes. I know he's coming. He's actually already here, with a fleet, if you look out the window." I said while walking to them and pointing out to a fleet of ships hovering over Bullheads dropping off Atlas students and fleet ships hovering over them. They both turn around and stare out the window.

"Ironwood certainly loves bringing his work wherever he travels." Glynda says, with a disappointed tone.

"Well, running an academy and a military makes him a busy man. But yes, those are a bit of an eyesore." Ozpin says.

"Well if you ask me, I'd say this isn't being discreet like we are meant to be and a bit underwhelming. What exactly does he expect to fight with this when he knows our enemy? I'd say he's overconfident in his army." I say while stepping right next to them near the window.

A beeping sound is heard from Ozpin's desk, signaling the elevators arrival, and in steps General Ironwood. "Come in." Ozpin says while walking to the front of his desk.

"Ozpin." Ironwood says, with his arms open in a friendly manner and a friendly tone.

"Hello General." Ozpin says while standing straight with his hands behind his back, standing like a soldier.

I ignore their greetings for a few seconds while watching the Atlas students in the courtyard come into Beacon Academy until I notice Glynda starting to leave. I start to follow her.

"And Glynda!" I hear Ironwood say a bit too excitedly. It sparks something in me. Is this what it means to feel a bit uneasy about someone? "It has certainly been too long since we last met." He says, opening up his arms, like he is expecting a hug. I go next to her as she stands next to Ozpin right in front of Ironwood, and put my left hand on her left waist and bring her closer to me. Ironwood expresses a face of discomfort. "And who might you be?" He asks, with a hint of hostility in his tone.

"Rowan. Glynda's boyfriend and assistant. Fitness instructor as well." I say while holding out my hand for a handshake. He doesn't grab my hand after a couple of seconds. "And also a new member of this little Circle." Ironwood immediately turns to Ozpin.

"Why is he here?" Ironwood asks.

"Instead of asking him, why don't you talk to the person you are about to talk about, who is standing right in front of you?" I ask with clear feeling of disrespect.

"Oh dear." I hear Ozpin say faintly.

I take out my Scroll and send my file that I prepared earlier just for this occasion and send it to Ironwood's Scroll. His Scroll beeps. "That's my file. Read it if you will General." I turn to Glynda. "We should get ready for our new students, shouldn't we dear?" I ask.

"We should my little redhead." She says lovingly and leads the way to the elevator and I follow suite.

Once we reach the elevator and turn around, Glynda presses the button to the ground floor. I look to Ironwood to see a clear face of jealousy and hate. The doors close and we stand in silence for a little bit and then Glynda turns and hugs me suddenly. "Look at you being defensive over me?" She says, which catches me off guard as I have never seen this side of her.
