Chapter 1.
Kate was a 16-years-old teenage girl, who was living in New York with her parents and sisters. She was into studying, and she was getting good grades.
But in some way, though all her many friends, sometimes she felt lonely. And whenever she felt lonely, she goes in a library.
Just like right now, on a rainy Monday evening, she was sitting on a chair and working on her exams. Everyone else seemed just smirking at her, because she was the only one -at least in the library- who was really going to do well in life.
But she didnt care. She wanted to do well and survive from the problems of life.
''Hey, Kate!'' someone -probably from her class- yelled and threw a paper pack in front of her, on her notebook of thousand words of human nature's progress.
''That's such a nice book, huh?!'' the guy kept joking. He walked away, towards the exit. Kate wondered, what was he even doing in a library. Those kind of pupils in the school didn't sometimes even know what is library, specially when they got forced to go there.
Later in the evening, Kate went home by her bike, and got told that they were going on a vacation for two weeks tomorrow. Kate thought that they should've told that earlier, until she found out her parents just booked the vacation. She just decided to accept that, it couldn't be so bad. Maybe they were going on some interesting place, away from the streets of New York, to a calm farm maybe. She wanted to get out of New York, at least for a couple of days.
And she got what she wanted. On a Tuesday afternoon they arrived to a very-nice-looking farm, full of horses, cows and everything a farm could have. The weather was nice, it was warm and cloudy. The wind felt warm on her skin as she stepped out of their small car.
A friendly-looking woman walked towards them, introducing herself and welcoming them to the farm. Kate's mother introduced the family, but Kate was just looking around the farm. She saw so many cute horses, that she'd liked to ride. Brown ones, dark ones and blonde ones.
''Let's go, Kate'' her mother said and brought her back in reality. They took their bags and walked in a small cottage, that they had booked.
