I walk in and keep my head down as I make my way to my locker. Socializing has never been my thing so the less people I have to talk to the better. It takes me several tries to get my locker open, but once I get it open it’s suddenly forced closed. I look at my feet and notice a pair of red stilettos. Of course the only people that wear heels to school is the popular crowd so right away I move my hair to be a curtain between me and them. I keep my head down and my eyes glued to my shoes.
“Well look what the cat drug in.” says miss im better than you. “Yeah” echos the little puppies. One of the extras suddenly pipes in “Looks like the cat tore it up before bringing in the trash.”” Shut up Melissa” Miss Perfect snaps back. Lucky for me I didn’t have time to put anything away so I picked up my book bag and walked around them. At least that’s what I tried to do. I was pulled back by my book bag, and slammed into the lockers. I slumped to the ground with no air in my lungs. I faintly heard laughter as my vision blackened around the edges.
“Stop it Courtney leave her alone.” Someone sticking up for me well that’s a new one. That’s when I blacked out.

As I come to I look around. White linoleum floor, and pristine white walls. The only place I could be is the nurses’ office. I sit up and just as quickly have to lie back down. The intense pounding coming from my head forces me to put my hand up. I feel a rather large goose egg forming, and i groan softly. The nurse walks in with a stethoscope around her neck and thermometer in her hand. She wastes no time getting to work. She’s slips it into my mouth, and tells me to keep it there for thirty seconds. While I'm waiting I inspect my nurse. She seems to be young maybe mid twenties; I notice her name tag says Mrs. Oswald. Thermometer beeps and she’s grabs it.
“No fever that’s good and no concussion. I guess you can go back to class Ms. Davis." I decide this is my best chance to ask questions. "What happened?" I say groggily. “I’m not for sure; a young boy by the name of Jason McConnell brought you in when you were out. I was hoping you could tell me what happened." Suddenly everything comes back to me and I gasp. "How long was I out?” "About an hour, Jason came back to check on you and you were still out. He started to worry." She gives a nervous laugh." I guess I should tell him you’re up." Jason, who’s Jason? And why did he stick up for me. I was lost in my thoughts when i was interrupted. "You can go to class now Ms. Davis."
