I groan as I look at my clock, six thirty without an alarm. I drag myself out of bed and head to the shower. I jump in and wash up reminiscing about my amazing day with Jason yesterday. An hour later I jump out and dry my hair before throwing it in a messy bun. I head back to my room and get dressed slowing every step as I make it into the living I just sigh.
I'm finally ready to get started cleaning and all I want is to be back in the shower. I decide to start in the kitchen so I grab a trash bag of the cabinet and start picking up all the discarded beer cans.
He must have had friends over, because even Mick himself doesn't drink this much.
Once all the cans are picked up I take my trash bag and head for the living room.
Lucky for me Mick must have woken up and went to bed, so I continue picking up all the trash on the floor.
I tie the bag shut and take it out to the trash by the house. Surprisingly it's really nice outside for it being fall. I stand on the porch and savor the few minutes of peace before heading back inside to finish.
I grab the mop out of the pantry and mop up the tile floor in the kitchen.
Sometimes I wonder how they even became foster parents, but I always ignore it because if they hadn't I'd still be in that foster home.
Foster homes aren't like the ones they show on TV but they are not much better. The food is disgusting, and no one evens cares whether you're there or not. The headmaster only wants the money it brings in.
I wash out the mop, and store it back in the closet. I'm getting ready to vacuum the living room when I hear the doorbell. I quickly clean up a little before going to get the door. When I open the door I see the last person I ever thought would be standing on my porch. The smile that appears on my face is ridiculous.
"What are you doing here?" I asked stunned
"Well if you don't want me here I can leave." He says turning around and heading back to his car.
"NO come in," I say grabbing his hand "Please" I add blushing.
"Well if you insist." He says following me into the house.
He hangs his hat on the coat rack, and looks around.
"Nice place."
I laugh sarcastically "You have got to be kidding. I've seen your house. That's a NICE place."
"No really it's homey here, my house isn't." He says
He walks over to the wall in the hallway that has all the pictures of my family.
He walks over to the first one where I'm six and wearing a princess costume with lipstick all over my face.
"You were into princesses? It doesn't seem like something you'd be into."
"What's that suppose to mean smarty?" I say sarcastically.
He just smiles and continues to look at the other photos. He gets down to the end and turns around puzzled. I raise an eyebrow at him as if to ask what.
"Why are there no pictures of you when you were a baby?"
"I was adopted." I say waving my hand dismissively.
"But......." Guess I'm in luck today because he gets interrupted by the phone ringing.
I take this to my advantage and run to the kitchen to get the phone.
"Hello" I say picking it up
"KAT!!" I hold the phone away from my head as Josie screams on the other line.
"Jos calm down, I can't hear anything." I say laughing
"Where. Have. You. Been? I've tried calling you a hundred times, and you haven't picked up."
"I've been out." I say simply
"Out where?"
"No where"
"Kathleen Marie Davis you tell me where you've been this minute or I won't tell you what I've heard." She threatens.
"Ugh fine. I was out with Jason."
"AHHHH! SO IT'S TRUE?!?!" She screams again.
My brow furrows in confusion.
"What's true?"
"That you, my friend, went on a date with none other than Jason McConnell."
"Well I guess you heard right." My voice squeals on the last word as someone's hands go around my waist.
"Kathleen what's going on?" She asked concerned.
I try to respond but Jason uses this time to start nuzzling my neck making me squirm.
"Uh nothing Jos I'm fine. What did you do this weekend?" I ask trying to make conversation.
Jason starts sucking on my neck which makes me melt into his body.
"Nothing just watched movies at home."
Now Jason is pulling on my earlobe making it even more difficult to speak. I open my mouth to respond, but instead I moan into the phone. I snap my mouth shut hoping Josie didn't hear it.
"OH MY GOSH!! KAT IS HE AT YOUR HOUSE?!?!?" Apparently she's already caught on.
"Of course not why would you say..... ohhh." I let out another moan as he moves back to my neck and over to my collarbone.
"KATHLEEN!!"
"um.... Yeah um... Josie got to go see ya."
I hang up the phone before anything else happens. I turn around intending to yell at him, but I'm surprised as he captures my list in a kiss. Instead of being hungry and demanding this kiss is sensual and long lasting.
I break away and lean my forehead against his.
"Why are you here?" I whisper as we catch our breaths.
"I couldn't stay away from you." He says blushing. "Oh and you left your phone at my house." He says reaching into his pocket.
Suddenly I here the bedroom door open.
"Crap" I say starting to panic "Jason you have to go."
"Wait, why?" he asks confused.
"You just have to hurry." I say pushing him toward the door.
"What about your cell phone?" he asks
"No time, just GO" I push him out the door, and slam it behind me. I jump over the couch landing with a thud, and flipping on the TV.
A few minutes later Mick walks into the living room stumbling a little. He doesn't even look at me as he heads into the kitchen. I wait and see him head back to his room with the bottle of aspirins, and another beer.
I sigh heavily before settling back down to watch TV. I fall asleep half way through a rerun of Switched at birth.
That was a close one.
