Persephone let out a gasp as Alastair's teeth punctured the soft, smooth skin of her neck. It felt good... so unbelievable good. It spread its warmth down her chest to pool in her belly. Her body felt hot, so incredibly hot, yet she wanted to be so much closer to Alastair in that moment. She did not want him to stop. To stop doing whatever he was doing because in that moment she forgot whatever he was doing to her. To stop making her feel so good, better than she had ever felt in her life. Her gasp was followed by a soft moan. At this, Alastair's arms tightened around her waist, pulling her chest to his, drawing in a deep breath through his nose. Persephone was aware of her blood leaving her body, but it felt so good that she didn't even bother worry that he may kill her. That he was taking the thing sustaining her life.
That's what made vampire so dangerous, not because they were the most evolved predator, not that they were faster, stronger, better in every way than any other animal that had ever lived, but because even when they were killing you, they could make so you begged, pleaded, sobbed, even bargained for them to keep doing that to you, to keep draining your blood, because nothing had ever felt so good and nothing would ever feel so good.
Alastair maintained control over himself as he allowed himself to drink from his darling, who was now writhing in his arms. He allowed her the pleasure he had the power of giving her, but only enough for it to take away her fear, but nothing more. He did not wish to drive her mad, he had to keep his control, for he knew if he heard her beg that all restraint would fly out the window, that he would not be able to stop himself from draining every last drop of blood in her body. Yet he relished in the moment of this, the iron of her blood tangy on his tongue and her small body wriggling in his arms, her hands on his biceps, grasping at the fabric of his shirt. Slowly, he pulled away sensing her life source becoming weaker. Detaching himself from her neck, he let his tongue graze over the small puncture wounds, allowing them to heal shut without a scar.
Persephone let out a gasping breath, her head lolling to the side, a warm hand guided her head to his shoulder as he gently pulled her into his lap, pressing a kiss to the side of her head.
"Wow," Persephone rasped out and Alastair chuckled.
"Oh love, I can do a lot more than that," he tightened his arms around her waist, reveling in the warmth of her blood in his veins. Never in over a thousand years had tasted someone so delicious, sweet and tangy at the same time, addictive. "I could make you feel like that every day," Persephone hummed into his neck, drunk off the pleasure, light headed from lack of blood, not one hundred percent aware of her surroundings, only sure that she was safe. Alastair hummed back, placing his chin on top of her head, "I would not even have to drink from you for that."
There was a pause, where just the two of the breathed, in sync to each other as warmth spread from where they touched.
"There is something I need to talk to you about though," Alastair waited for a response, but Persephone only shifted to press her nose to the side of his neck, her breath gently tickling the skin there. He took a deep breath before moving on.
"As you know, I am the king of the entire vampire race, as a king I am required to take a queen. I wish you to be her. I do not just want you as a fling, I do not just want you for blood. I want your entire soul, I need it, crave it even. And in return you will have mine. Ours is a bond that comes only every few thousand years and I am so lucky to have you, my dear. What I am trying to say, is that I wish to marry you."
There was a silence, Persephone had halted any movement as she processed this request. Alastair, worried at her lack of response, searched her emotions for something, anything to key him to her thoughts. Although he may have access to her thoughts at any given point, he found that he did not desire to invade her mind unless it was an absolute emergency.
"My darling? Will you answer me? Please?"
