Kate has arrived at the prescient and is currently in Captain Roy Montgomery's office. Montgomery is asking Kate lots of different questions. Like "you were high ranking at the academy, correct?" And "why do you want to be a detective for?" And those kind of questions.
Kate was getting a bit too hot in her coat and so she took off her coat. Montgomery's eyes popped out of their sockets when he saw Kate's stomach.
"You're pregnant?!" He exclaimed in complete shock. Kate smiled.
"Yes. 5 1/2 months along. My boyfriend is the baby's father." She told him.
"Gender?" He asked.
"Don't know till my appointment that's about 2 days away from today. So not tomorrow, but the next day. It's at 10:30am." She explained.
"Okay, well on that Pacific day, you come in at 12:00pm. Have lunch before you come in. Deal?" Kate nodded. "Okay, well congratulations and I'll take you to your team." They walked out as Kate grabbed her coat. "ESPO! RYAN! HERE NOW!"Montgomery ordered. The two little men ran out of the break room and towards their captain. "Met your new par-" he moved to his right and gasps were heard.
"Kate?" "Beckett?" Both the men exclaimed in shocked surpriseness.
Kate looked up at the mention of her name. She gasped too. "Kevin? Javier? You're detectives too?" Kate was just as shocked as they were.
"How do you know each other?" Captain asked confused.
"Same high school and college, sir. We were best friend back then. We lost contact after we graduated college." Explained Ryan. Captain nodded. The phone then suddenly rang on Esposito desk. He answered it. Jotted something down and hung up.
"Murder at 24th queen and lex street." Montgomery looked at Kate.
"As you are pregnant, you can only go to crime scenes, interrogate suspects, do they murder board and do paperwork. No field work. Any physical contact from suspects at any time, desk work onky. Deal?" Kate sighed but nodded. "Go out there and show how great a detective you can be." Kate smiled, put her coat back on and followed the boys down to the cars.

Kate walked over to the dead person that was on the ground outside out of big hotel. She walked over to where a young caramel skin coloured woman, with fairly longish black hair was crouching down to examine the body.
"Hey," said Kate, the woman looked up as Kate continued, "I'm K-"
"Kate?!" The woman exclaimed. Kate looked up at the woman. A big goofy smiled appeared.
"Omg! Lanie? Is that really you?" Kate yelled in surprised. Ryan and Javi just watched in the background as they smiled at the two best friend reuniting.
"No it's that blonde bitch who stole your boyfriend back in high school! Of course it's me!" She exaggerates.
"Blonde bitch? You mean Meredith? That idiotic, psycho cheerleader?" Kate asks, already knowing the dreadful answer.
"Duh! Yeah! Anyway, let's have a girls night one day this week? What do you say?" Lanie flutters her eyelashes at Kate and laughs.
"Deal. What day? Not tomorrow as I have an appointment and then work. And then spending time with my boyfriend. The day after that is a book signing I'm going too. So the day after that I'm free. What day is that?" Kate thought.
"That's a Thursday. I'm free till after 6pm. Be yours round... say...7pm?"
"Okay, deal. Now what do you have on the victim?"
"Young male. In about his late twenties, early thirties. No ID found yet." Told Lanie.
"COD?"
"It looks like strangulation. You know, like suicide."
