Finally, Love

Amelia Grace

I'm not a doctor. I don't know anything about any of the doctoring things and so many of this information in this chapter maybe incorrect. But this is fiction, so none of this is real!

So currently Kate is in hospital, in labour. She has been for the last few hours. She tired, sweaty and in excruciating pain. Rick is by her side, as usual. But Kate is glad to have someone she trusts with her. Tears are pouring down Kate's cheeks as another contraction hits her.

"Oh god." Kate pants in pain.

"Hold my hand and squeeze as hard as you can, it might take the pain away slightly." Told Rick as Kate grabs a hold of his hand and squeezes it like her life depended on it. Another contraction soon hits again, a bit stronger than before. Kate crushes Ricks hand. He has to try so hard not to scream in pain. Because the pain he's going through, is nothing compared to what Kate's going through.

"Ouch." Rick whispered as Kates contraction finishes. Kate glares at him.

"I'm in way more pain than you are, mister." Kate laid her head back on the soft pillow and closed her eyes. "God I'm so exhausted."

"Try to sleep."

"I can't. The contractions wake me up again." Kate cries.

"Want me to go get the nurse so she can give you something so you can get some more sleep?" Rick asked. Kate looked at him.

"I don't know." Kate whimpered. Rick sat on her hospital bed and stroke her cheek. Kate leaned into his hand.

"Kate, what's wrong?" Rick asked carefully. Kate sighed.

"I'm in labour and the father of my baby is not here. Why isn't Will not here? Does he not want to meet Amelia? Does he not want to be in her life? Has he given up on me? Does- why- has- UGHHH!" Kate was beginning to hyperventilate.

"Kate! Breathe! Don't get stressed or it will harm Amelia!" Rick panicked but managed to get Kate to calm down slightly.

Kate hugged Rick. "Thank you." She mumbled into his chest.

"What for?"

"For helping me to get through this." She pointed to her swollen bump. "Amelia will love you." Kate said. She didn't mean to say that out loud.

"What? Why would Amelia love me? I'm not her father or-" Kate cut him off.

"But you certainly have been like her father since we've met. You've help me and you'll help Amelia if you-" Kate immediately stopped talking once she felt something. Her heart machine started to increase. Kate suddenly fell backwards so her head hit the pillow and started thrashing about. Rick panicked and whet to call for help. Doctors and nurses ran into the room to help Kate. Rick was forced to get out the room and wait in the waiting room. A doctor will come collect him with some news.

After hours of waiting and no new news. A doctor suddenly appears. He spots the man he wants to see. "Mr Castle?" Rick's head shoots up. He stands up once he sees it the doctor.

"Doc, how is she? How is Kate?" Rick asked quickly. Two redheads were standing behind him. An older adult and a younger child.

"Who are these two?" The doctor asked looking at the two redheads.

"I'm Alexis."

"And I'm Martha."

"My daughter and my mother." Told Rick as he pointed to who was who. The doctor nodded.

"And who is he?" The doctor asked again, pointing to the man sitting in the chair.

"That's Jim. He's Kate's father." Explained Rick. The doctor nodded again. "Is Kate okay?"
