Kate woke earlier than usual. She wanted to get out of the apartment before Will got up. So after she had done her morning routine in the bathroom and had gotten dressed. She headed out the building, where she saw her boyfriend still on the couch snoring his head off. Kate hated his snores. They kept her up at night. Sounds like a car's engine broken and doesn't want to be fix.

Kate decided to skip breakfast, she'll get it at her Starbucks around the corner, where she now gets her decaf coffee. She will then start to head to the book signing that she so desperately wants to go to. She checks her watch. 8:43am. Enough time to get breakfast before the book signing begins and 10:30am.

"One plate of pancakes with strawberries and decaf grande skim latte, two pump sugar-free vanilla." Shouted a young blonde woman from behind the bar.

"Thanks" Kate replied as see took the coffee cup and plate from the woman's hand. She smiled and whet to do someone's else's order.

Kate whet to go find a seat and saw a woman siting on a table on her own. She looked more and all the other tables were full. She walked over to the woman. "Hey, excuse me. May I sit with you?" The woman looked up and scanned the room too.

"Oh yes, sweetie, you may." Smiled the woman. Kate smiled and sat down. She started her meal. "How far along are you?" Kate looked up, confused at first. "Your stomach. You're pregnant. How far along?" Kate giggled a bit.

"22weeks." Kate smiled and carried on eating.

"Congratulations. Do you know what your having?"

"Yeah. A baby girl." Kate's smile grew.

"Aww. How cute. Any names yet?" The woman asked

" No. Not yet. Me and my boyfriend hadn't discuss that topic yet." Kate's smiled turned into a frown when she thought of her boyfriend.

"Are you okay sweetie? Are you and your boyfriend not on good terms?" This woman was so nosey.

"No. Not really." A tear ran down her cheek.

"Oh dear. You wanna tell me? I can help you if you want me too." Told the woman.

"But I don't even know you." Kate stated.

"Oh my, yes. How silly of me not to introduce myself. I'm Martha Rogers." Explained Martha.

"THE Martha Rogers? The Broadway actress?" Kate was shocked.

"Oh so you've heard of me then." Martha chuckled.

"Omg, of course I have. Me and my mother loved your work." Kate exclaimed excitingly, not knowing how she worded it.

"Loved?" Martha asked Confused.

Kate stopped fangirling. "Oh yeah. Well I still love your work. My mother, however....." more tears swelled up in her eyes.

"What about your mother?"

"She died. Murdered." Kate wiped her tears away. No stress Kate. It's bad for the baby. She told herself.

"Oh my!  That's terrible! Wait, was she that woman who was on the news all those months ago?" Kate slowly nodded.

"Yeah, Johanna Beckett."

"It said on the news it was a gang violence. That she was at the wrong place at the wrong time." Stated Martha.

"No it wasn't. They just ruled it off like that because they couldn't find the killer. And right now, all I want is for my mother to be here." Kate was silently sobbing.
