Sorry for not posting much well that relationship lasted a good few weeks but it's over so I can focus my strength on this.

Seven hours later, there's a soldier getting ready to fight in the civil war. He's just about to finish putting his armor on. His name is Nicholas Rowan.

(Rowan's perspective)

"Rowan," My commander started talking. "I want you and your squad to go to the right flank of the castle." He showed me the map. We were surely on our last defense. We can't let the castle to fall. The castle falls then we fall with it. I finish putting on my armor, and I grabbed my spear and shield and met in the middle of our armory in our barracks.

"Alright, men we defend the right flank. The right flank is the town market. We mustn't let it go. We shall only use spears and shields. One enemy gets past, our kingdom will be in jeopardy. We can do this! FOR THE KING!"

"FOR THE KING!" My men shouted in reply. We left the armory barracks. My twenty men ran quickly through chaos and death. I saw a kid running through the streets. This was all in slow motion for me. I can seem to shake the scariness of watching villagers in confusion running and screaming. We kept our eyes on the rode. The sooner we get there the better the fun will be.

"Go! Go! Men we mustn't fall behind!" I shouted to my men running in two lines behind me, each of the lines had ten. I knew this war would have chaos. I hate the rings of the bells of temporary curfew. We passed by lots of soldiers. They were stationed with their spears in the air waiting for the enemies to approach. I see where we'll be stationed. We ran over stalls and through many alleyways. This all was once flourishing with people and gold. Now, it's a battle zone. Why should anyone ruin such a magnificent kingdom? I can admit I was nervous about what was about to happen. I couldn't deal with the matters on my hands. I had to finish the mission that was my only truth. I can't focus on anything except my soldiers and myself. We get closer to the area we are commanded to defend.

"Alright men! I need two rows shields at the ready, spears in the air, and ready to be drawn!" I commanded. We waited and listened to the terrors of the soldier's retreating in front of us. We knew what we signed up for. This was a different war. This was fought in our lands, our people, and our blood. Our blood is spilled at every corner and house in every direction.

The enemies are approaching us with indomitable speed. I wish I could say there's good in their hearts but that isn't the truth. I must keep my head as clear as the sky. I can hear the shouts like thunder cracking the foundations we built in pieces. Historians will overlook this time as a hiccup. This is no hiccup. This is war and we are their enemies. I see the first enemy with a bow.

"Shields ready! Spears out!" My men follow my commands and the spears rest in a little spear hole on the right side of the shield. In the spaces of no spears were filled with the second row of spear men. This alley way may be small but we must hold it. All defenses are vital to our victory. Only a second of silence like an eye of a hurricane. Everything was calm. They then charged us jumping through store stalls and charging the street.

"Move forward! Slow!" We slowly walked forward shields and spears still out. I guess I should mention Everyone also had swords with their spears. The spears were longer than normal size. Distance was our advantage. Arrows hit our shields. I knew we would have porky pine shields by the end of this. I saw no crossbows, so I knew we would be alright for now. Crossbows can easily pierce through our shields and armor, and they aren't really cheap for a good one at least. I had to make sure my troops were safe. A few archers were mounted on the buildings to the left and the right of us to keep my troops safe. Every time I see another enemy archer my heart stops. The only thing on my mind was to keep my troops safe. I can not let my issues get in front of my troops. They are more important than me. I watched as new archers keep on entering the roofs of the buildings and getting shot. One body landed on my soldiers to the right of the alleyway. The soldier fell a bit from the force but picked himself up. My troops moved forward with our spears piercing the oppressors. Then a man walked into the market alleyway. He had to be at least seven feet tall. This man was huge. He wasn't quite a giant but he must've have giants blood. He carried a gigantic sword. I had to act quickly.

"Second row! Raise your spears towards his head. First row! Hold your ground!" I yelled. I was being shaken up by this. I grabbed my spear and joined the formation. The man was getting closer. The spears were able to touch him. I jabbed my spear at his stomach. He yelled and charged. He tripped and fell on three soldiers. Everyone else got out of the way. Two of the three soldiers screamed for help. One was dead. One of the two soldiers screaming was screaming for his mommy. We couldn't move the giant with out crushing one of the two soldiers. I went for the soldier not screaming for his mom. The soldier I chose was less under the giant, and he could fight another day. We rolled the giant man over into the soldier screaming for his mom. The screams got quieter and quieter. I wept a tear drop for the man.

"Thank you! I thought I was dead." Greyson said. Greyson was the soldier who we rescued.  We got the giant's body out of the way and watched the man who screamed and died. His legs were crushed. He wouldn't of last a day. This moment is going to haunt me I thought. Greyson was still able to function. I stared at the soldier's corpse. My troops still holding off the enemies. I went up to his body and closed his eyes and said.

"The world is lifted from your shoulders, may you walk upon the God of the universe."

I hated these revolters. They have no morals. I wish the world could be happy. Why is there evil? I ask that question every day.

"Rowan, you and your squad go to the square. It's bad. We need everyone to hold the square." My commander exclaimed to me. I followed his command and headed to the square with my remaining eighteen troops. This all meant the right flank would be exposed. I thought of it as a terrible idea, but it must be good reasoning.

I watched the square. We had our spears readied to throw. The first enemies poured in about thirty. We launched our spears hitting about fourteen in the head, smashing their skulls. Three squads were their at the square. We charged the enemy. We sliced through them. We cut their army to shreds and slit their throats. Twenty more poured into the square. Catapults were being launched at the enemies in front of us. I clashed with enemies. My sword clinked against theirs like the ocean hitting the sand continuously. I heard men shouting. An arrow hit my helmet. I could feel the tip barely hitting my head. My helmet saved my life. I grabbed the arrow out of my helmet, and I threw it on the ground. A revolter came tumbling towards me I grabbed him and threw myself onto his chest. I heard the crack of bones. I grabbed the knife that he had and slit his throat for safe measures. I looked up at my troops fighting courageously. The cling of swords hit each other. I look around as the revolters fall to the sword. I can't help to think of the honor we would all receive. I looked around more and my eyes landed on the castle. The beautiful castle is still was standing tall. I looked around more slashing the enemies trying to reach me. I only realized one thing that is they don't have good hearts, but in that moment I thought. If I claim that they don't have good in their hearts wouldn't that mean that I don't have a good heart either?

My mind has come to reality that we could the be the bad men, the enemies. I always considered us the good, but maybe it's time for a new leader. I whistled to my troops to stop fighting the revolters. I grab my sword and killed one of the other commanders in the square. My squad understood. They started to kill the other squads. I watched as my men killed the others without question. The revolters understood too. I see the commander look at me.

"You bloody traitor!" He yelled charging me. We fought sword to sword. The true challenges arose. We fought and fought. I finally jabbed at his breastplate. He fell back a bit. My men gathered around me watching. I take my sword and slash at his side. Hitting him again, he fell back. Then charging again I blocked it. I finally swing my sword in a circle and his head flies off. I look at my men with a changed heart. My twelve men agreed with me. I explained that we must take the castle, tonight.
