The next morning, I was wiping blood from my fangs.  With Cerin dead, I'd had to bite someone.  I was sure I'd probably irritated my target, but it didn't matter.  As I walked outside, I noticed that the town had discovered another corpse.  This corpse belonged to Mekhi, killed by a gunshot wound to the back of the head.  The Mafia had gotten to him.  I didn't understand; Mekhi and Ria were both revealed Townies, but Mekhi had been killed by the Mafia and I'd bitten Ria.  What had the Bodyguard been doing last night?

"Well, um, do we have any leads?"  Shelby asked.

"I do."  Ria replied.  "I investigated Shelby.  She's a Bodyguard, Godfather, or Arsonist."

"Liar!"  Emerald countered.  "I investigated Shelby earlier, and she's a Survivor, Amnesiac, or Vampire Hunter!"

"Must be an Arsonist in our midst."  I tried to come to a peace between the two Investigators.  "Shelby, what role are you claiming?"

"Survivor."  Shelby replied.  "I know it sounds suspicious, but Emerald has my results.  As for Ria... either she's lying, or we have an Arsonist who doused my home."  She frowned.  "Has there been an Arsonist in play before now?"

"Not to anyone's knowledge."  I replied.  "And it's been a while... an Arsonist would've started dousing the night they got their role, which would've caused a lot more confusion than this."

"Alright."  Jae said.  "We lynch Ria today.  If she's innocent, we lynch Shelby tomorrow."

"Wait."  Deon began.  "What if she's a Jester?  Ria, I mean.  She could be trying to get lynched so she can kill one of us later."

"Good point..."  Jae considered this.  "Okay, for now, we don't lynch her, in case she's a Jester trying to confuse us.  Got it?"  The town concurred.  We returned to our homes.

I walked out later that night to see Ria standing there, waiting for me.

"You're gonna get me fucking murdered, Vampy."  She scowled.

"You're gonna get murdered anyways at this point."  I replied.  "We'll have to wait a day to bite, then I'll let you choose who to bite.  If you survive, at least."

"Wow, thanks."  Ria's sarcasm was tangible as she spoke.  We returned to our homes, heading to get some sleep.  The next morning, Ria had been killed by the Mafia.

"I guess she was lying about being an Investigator."  I commented.  "Or she was turned later."  The town nodded their agreement.  "So... any leads?"
