Chapter 1

Jungle of Misery

               

Iris

                I wish I wasn’t so unsure about this I knew this is what needed to happen. I should be ready like the rest of the guys. I mean they were so strong and understood their power so well already if we were ranked on our strength it would be; first Rai then Kova then Axel and I last while Ms. Rune is just in her own league. Even Kova is stronger than me he can control his power after about 2 days of unlocking it while Rai and I had ours for 2 years.

                Ms. Rune decides that we take camp and rest Kova makes some rock tents for us as we get ready to sleep. I wasn’t ready to sleep yet due to the fact I wanted to talk, I find Ms. Rune taking first watch as the boys sleep.

                “I take it you could not sleep Iris.” She was right.

                “I was just thinking about my power and if I was strong enough to really help u guys.”

                She nods. “It’s all about strength but what you do with it your green fire is from your pure heart it is meant for healing. Haven’t you noticed why the grass and other plant life grow faster when around you, it’s from your aura?”

                “My aura, so that’s why that happens is that also why Axel gives off a breeze if he walks by, or why the air gets crisp when Rai is around.”

                “Why yes exactly right and you are strong, once you practice your healing then you can be even more powerful.”

                I take note of that and I head back to my tent, I notice Axel is still holding his side was he injured earlier? I walk up and ask him, he just says he’s fine but even under the bandage it was pretty bad. I take him to see Ms. Rune.

                “Would it be safe to try my healing on him Ms. Rune?”

                “It seems so just be careful and focus on the wound only.”

                “I hope you know what you’re doing Iris don’t burn me please.”

                I focus on the wound and spread my green fire around it I press it in deeper and the starts to close I add more pressure and force some more fire in, I make sure to keep in mind that I want to help Axel he is my friend. I raise my hands and the wound has stopped bleeding but it left a shallow scar.

                “Thank you Iris.”

                “Good job you did great.”

                I smile but then it caught up to me how tired I was. “You should rest dear you need ur sleep for tomorrow.”

                I go to my tent and get ready to sleep. I close my eyes and I was already dreaming. I saw a figure surrounded by a torrent of red fire and her aura caused things around her to wither and die plants shriveled and trees rotting. It looked at me and laughed manically it raised its hand and from beneath where I was standing fire shot up from under my feet. Ms. Rune shoves me out of the way and takes my place. I sat on the ground terrified.  

                I woke up worried about my dream last night. I gaze at Ms. Rune who was talking to the boys about our next route, while Kova was playing with his rock beast. I was scared for her, that dream felt too real.
