vampires

Vampires are some of the most common immortals. They are, as you would expect, pale with eyes that are most commonly the color of a red rose, they usually have two fangs that have been found to have venom that allows Vampires to paralyze humans when feeding while their saliva acts as a blood thinner. Vampires are ruled over by a royal family, like any other monarchy, while their customs and traditions are taken or inspired by an ancient kingdom that came before almost every other immortal species.

-the kingdom-

the vampiric kingdom has a history of kings and queens that may not have been the best people or the most mentally stable, like any other kingdom would if you looked deep enough into the past, but the vampires do not hide this checkered past, they instead embrace it and have been known to even take measures to publicly humiliate the rulers who might be unfaithful, greedy, or sinful in any other way, or repeatedly do mental checks of the current ruler and their offspring. 

in the way of the traditions of the kingdom, they take some of them from an ancient kingdom and give them a modern twist. The most noticeable tradition is shown by the king and/or queen of vampires. This tradition is to keep a harem of the ruler's preferred gender in case their spouse either dies, cheats, or is infertile. 

This tradition and much more are still continued by the current ruler, a young man who is actually a pre-evolutionary version of the vampire species. 

-breeding-

Vampires find semi-permanent mates during the spring season but are sent into a forced breeding frenzy on a specific night. This one night of primal instinct ensures that vampires find mates, even if they don't want to, to make sure that the species continues to thrive, but this one night can also have a very dangerous side effect. Due to the primal instinct that male vampires are forced into on this night, consent is a meaningless word to them, leading them to rape their mate, or if they escape before anything can happen, they will go to great extent to chase this one person until one of them either dies or is caught. After the male has found their mate, they will only breed with them for a long time.

Due to the fact that this occurrence is during the vampiric breeding season the cops can do nothing about the actions committed by vampires on this night, seeing how their actions are almost involuntary and done to further their species. However, if a vampire assaults anyone on any other night, or is found to already have a mate when this season rolls around, it is no longer seen as an action taken to breed and instead is seen as illegal. 

-feeding-

Vampires still drink blood from human beings, but instead of seducing a person and feeding directly from them, they instead prefer the easier option of buying blood bags from certain stores.  However, this method of peaceful shopping can agitate some vampires, mostly younger ones, who wish to have some challenges with their meals, so to fulfill this need, they turn to feeding on immortal blood. The blood of immortals is seen as the inhuman version of cocaine, meth, heroin, weed, or shrooms, depending on how diluted the blood is and the species it originates from. Young vampires fall prey to the temptation of feeding off one another or other immortals as a way to feel challenged and get high. Adult vampires also take part in this drug addiction for the same reason or feel like they are once again hunters, hiding in the shadows and stalking prey that does not know that they are prey, which is hard to do with humans simply because they know that some vampires will feed on them and know that if they comply, they have a better chance of living.

-pregnancies-

Female vampires can stay pregnant for up to ten months, during this time, they need fresh human blood instead of the blood that is bought at a store to feed the young demon they carry inside of them and make sure that they will be born healthy. Other than that need, their pregnancies are a lot like humans, they get mood swings, get cravings, and all the other fun things that pregnancy commonly brings.

Modern vampires can go out into the shade instead of having to wait until night, so they lose the nocturnal habits, but they are still naturally good looking, a power that aids in their feeding, and have a natural skill for sweet talking anyone like a succubus would, but they use less sexual means like revealing clothing or saying they're horny and more pretty words and lies to get trust more than sex. Vampires can also hover like a ghost, which is an evolutionary ability from their ancestors and can simply hypnotize women with their eyes which allows them to get subservient humans that will let them feed whenever they wish.

so, this species is somewhat inspired by Marshall lee from the genderbent adventure time, and some of the lore I kinda just made up with some inspiration from old lore. Also, sorry for the long wait for a new part, I have had no wifi and very little action within the realm of fleshing out species like this one. On another note, this part is moved to be earlier on simply because I forgot it, so whoops. Anyway, peace!
