8th Chapter; Calm Down - Monsta X
Jongup's POV:
"What?!" I growled into my phone and only heard sobs from the other end of the line.
"She-She's with the boss but he doesn't seem to focus on the mission. He's a fucking traitor!" was Zelo's answer, making me angrier.
"No, don't fucking say that. He's probably doing it for the mission. Have you talked to him?" I nervously ran a hand through my hair and sat down at the table, tapping my fingers impatiently.
"Do I sound like I'm in the mood to talk to that fucker?" was his answer, still sobbing and coughing.
I sighed.
"I'll call him. We need to act right now, I saw one of them going in the direction of your house. Get out of there right now." I demanded and hung up, immediately dialling Bang's number and waiting for him to pick up.
"What do you want, I'm busy." He snarled and I felt chills running down my back.
"Zelo just called me, he saw you with her and was questioning your intentions." I tried answering with a serious voice, but I couldn't hide a little stutter.
"Yes, I'm with her right now, and I'm doing it for the mission. Zelo is the one risking everything." I could hear her giggling in the background, which made my heart sink a little.
"What do you mean, he's risking everything?" I asked carefully, not meaning to upset the boss.
"He called her and confessed to her. He said he loved her and now she's confused, so I'm going out with her to help her clear her mind."
"Well, he actually saved her life then." I mumbled, more to myself than to Bang, but he heard it anyways.
"What do you mean?" he sounded a bit worried now.
"I told Zelo that one of them was on his way to her house, where Zelo is currently sitting on the floor outside. I told him to get the fuck out of there but-" I couldn't talk any further, as I heard Bang swear.
"Do you not realize what he's going to do? He's probably going to try to kill him, you stupid fuck. I have to get there now." He cussed again and I realized my mistake.
"But what about her?" I asked nervously.
"Fuck, I don't know. I can't leave her alone right now. Can you come and pick her up, bring her to base?" Bang asked and I swallowed nervously.
"Okay, where are you?"I grabbed my leather jacket and car keys and ran outside.
"Almost at the café." Bang answered and I nodded, starting the car.
"I'll be there in 10." I said and hung up, hurriedly starting to drive.Regular POV:
"Hey, y/n, I have to leave now, I'm so sorry, but it's very urgent. One of my friends will come pick you up in a few minutes. Promise me to do everything he tells you to do, you have to trust him completely." Yongguk cupped my face in his hands and confusion was filling my body.
"What do you mean? What's going on?" I asked nervously.
"Please promise me to trust him. It could save your life." His eyes were filled with determination and worry.
"O-okay, but why?" fear was building up in my stomach.
"Don't ask questions. You have to trust him. I can't risk losing you now." His gaze flickered with fear and I nodded, swallowing in fear. He kept looking at my face, as if trying to remember every one of my features.
Then he leaned forward and passionately kissed me.
My eyes widened in shock, not knowing what else to do, I kissed him back, until he broke the kiss.
"Take care now." He whispered and turned around, starting to walk away quickly.
"Yongguk!" I shouted weakly, making him turn around again, with a questioning look on his perfect face.
"I love you." I whispered and he flashed me a quick smile before turning around and starting to run away.
So there I was. Having confessed my love to a man I didn't know anything about, only knowing him for just over a weekend, and waiting for his friend to pick me up and save my life.
As soon as I saw the car approaching, my jaw dropped and I ran a hand through my hair in frustration and confusion.
It parked in front of me, the driver opening the door for me and shouting with a worried look on his face; "Get in. Come on!"
I sighed and climbed into the car, still trying to understand the whole situation.
"Jongup." I said and stared at the passing cars as he started driving again.
"Y/n. I'm sorry for everything. But that has to wait right now. We have a very big problem and Bang is gonna take care of it." Jongup said, seemingly more to himself than to me.
"Can you explain what the fuck is happening?" I asked, crossing my arms in front of my chest.
"Well, to make it short, there's a gang war going on and the other side wants you dead to make us accuse each other." He explained with a shaking voice.
"Are you serious? Gangs? Who wants me dead?" I asked, suddenly totally convinced that he was telling the truth. I didn't know why, I just knew it was true.
"I don't think I should tell you, because you know them." He said, visibly being nervous.
"Well, if I fucking know them, I have a right to know, don't you think?" I asked, squinting my eyes trying to figure out who he was talking about.
"Well, okay. I'll just explain real quick. There's the gang B.A.P, that's us." He started explaining and I immediately interrupted him.
"Who's us?"
He swallowed, thinking about the right words to choose.
"Well, there's Bang Yongguk, the boss. Then there's me."
"What position do you have?" I interrupted again.
"Recruiter and chief enforcer. Anyways, then there's Chan, you know him as Himchan."
"Are you fucking kidding me? That fluffy sweetheart is in a gang? What's his position?" My whole world was being crushed right now and the curiosity arose.
"He's our Bookkeeper. Then there's Youngjae and Daehyun, our treasurer and advisors. And then, uhm." He paused for a second, looking at me, unsure of how to proceed.
"Then?" I asked, wanting him to continue.
"Well, uhm, you know, I probably shouldn't tell you this one." He mumbled, but I grabbed the collar of his sweater and leaned over to him.
"If you don't fucking tell me right now I'm jumping out of the fucking car, do you hear me?" I snarled and he swallowed again.
I could be very intimidating if I wanted.
"Zelo. Is what we call him. He's the youngest and also a recruiter." He answered.
"What is his real name?"
He sighed.
"Junhong."
Silence filled the car and I let go of him, leaning back in my seat.
"Junhong? In a gang? Why? How long? Why didn't he tell me?" tears were welling up in my eyes as I thought about his confession from earlier.
"Jongup, we have to go back to my house right now, I need to talk to him." I urged him but he just shook his head.
"We can't. Yongguk gave me the order to bring you to the safe place. He's taking care of Zelo."
I looked up at him in confusion.
"What do you mean 'he's taking care of him'?" my voice was shaking in fear and I fumbled with the hem of my sweater.
"The other gang. They call themselves 'Monsta X'. We only know who their recruiter is. He calls himself Wonho, but we know his real name is-"
"Hoseok. Shin Hoseok." I answered for him and he looked over at me in surprise.
"I gave him that nickname. So you're trying to tell me that Wonho wants me dead?" I growled, tears welling up in my eyes.
"Not only him, the whole gang. They became friends with you to have access to us and they threatened to kill a lot. The last time they let us know you were in danger was when you were in the karaoke bar. That's why Himchan was there. To keep an eye on you."
He looked around the place he was driving and then parked the car in a side street.
"What about Zelo?" I asked again when we were out of the car and he sighed, grabbing my hand and running over to an empty looking warehouse with me.
"Let's get inside first, then I'll tell you." He whispered, as he pulled something out of his jacket.
"What the fuck." I whispered in surprise as I saw that it was a gun.
He smirked at me showing the gun to me.
"Never seen one up close, huh?"
"Shut the fuck up, this is no time for stupid jokes." I growled, but still smirked back at him as he went into the warehouse, checking if it was safe.
"It's safe, come in." I heard him say after a few minutes and followed him quietly.
I followed him into the cellar of the warehouse, where he opened a door that was locked with approximately 5 different locks.
"This seems cozy." I mumbled to myself and sat down on an old looking couch in a corner.
"We'll have to stay here for a while. The others will follow soon so you don't have to spend a lot of time with me alone." Jongup said and locked the door again, walking over to the fridge in the kitchen-like area. He opened it and grabbed two bottles of beer, handing me one.
"Thank you. I don't think being alone with you is particularly bad. It could be worse. I could be alone with Himchan, which would result in hours of awkward silence." I said and took a sip of the beer.
Jongup was silent, so I looked over at him, worried that I might have said something wrong, but he was just leaning against the door with the beer in his hand and a surprised smirk on his face.
"What?" I asked with confusion.
Then he started chuckling.
"I just love it when you try being funny."
