"You really need to be quiet, alright?"Jimin carefully opened the front door as quietly as he could, softly whispering the words to Jungkook.
Taehyung was home, but he was definitely asleep judging by the fact that all of the lights in their shared apartment were turned off. Jungkook trailed behind him, fingertips still brushing as Jimin's hand as the human led him inside.
This was so strange.
Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows once Jimin switched on a lamp, observing the setting in front of him. Everything was so neat and tidy, and the walls were an agonizingly boring shade of grey.
It was a far cry from his own home. He was so used to being surrounded in maximalism. The walls of his hut were covered in drying herbs, candles, shelves with books, and drawings. Jimin's was so bare. Jungkook silently wondered how he lived in here without going insane.
"This is your home?" He asked softly, following Jimin as the shorter male lead him into the living room. More grey, more dullness, and it was cold. The weather outside was warm, sure, but Jungkook found the temperature indoors quite excessive with the way a shiver went through his body. He rubbed his hands up and down his arms to generate heat.
"Mine and my boyfriend's, yeah." Jimin hummed, walking a few steps away from Jungkook to switch on a lamp in the living room as well. "Taehyung should be asleep right now though."
Jungkook's ears perked up. Taehyung. Taehyung. Why did he know that name? He was sure he hadn't met anyone with it, so why did it sound so familiar to his ears? He wracked his brain for a moment, standing in front of Jimin in silence, before ultimately coming up with nothing.
His brain associated that name with someone, he knew that had to be true. Otherwise he wouldn't have had such a subconscious reaction when the syllables were uttered. Who though? When? And most of all why?
"It's... nice." Jungkook finally spoke, his eyes scanning across the living room. That was a lie, and he became aware of how obvious that was when Jimin raised an eyebrow in amusement.
"It's plain, I know." Jimin laughed softly before walking over to a dresser and opening a drawer. "Tae's never been a fan of flashy things, so we keep it simple." He pulled out a few fluffy blankets, shaking them out to unfold them. "It's alright though, I get my fill of trinkets at the bookshop I work at."
Jungkook's eyebrows shot up.
"You work at the bookstore?" He asked, genuinely interested. He only knew of one close by, and his friends frequented it whenever they stopped into town. He wondered if Jimin knew that he had come into contact with so many witches because of his profession. Most likely not though, he'd probably be much more wary of strangers like Jungkook if he did.
The effects of the spell Namjoon cast on him were slowly but surely wearing off. He still felt good, confident, but he was becoming much more aware of the situation he found himself in. The blind trust was slowly dissipating, and he was finally beginning to realize that he was standing in a human's domain at the moment.
If it weren't for the remnants of magic still lingering in his system, he probably would have fainted at the thought.
"Yeah, you ever been?" Jimin answered, laying out the blankets on the couch before turning back to face Jungkook.
"Once or twice." Jungkook answered. This was another lie, he has never stepped foot anywhere other than the forest he called home up until now. His friends had though, which is why he had knowledge of the shop in the first place. Luckily, this lie seemed to be more convincing though, because Jimin merely smiled.
