Chapter-III

Sam's POV

I know Adrita since I started my school. She was always there for me. I loved her from the moment I saw her at school. She was my puppy love which eventually got added with infatuation and multiplied into true love.

The things which I am telling now happened after you went abroad Sasha.

"Hey Adrita you know that I like you more than a friend should right?"

"Yes I know but you know a guy proposed me already and I kinda like that guy more than you"

"Please..."

"Sam I have seen you only as my friend from the day I met you. I got to know eventually that you had feelings for me but I didn't want to burst out and break our friendship. I like you"

"Can you come to my house today Adrita? I have to show you something"

"Well if that makes you get over it, I'll come for sure in the evening"

I went to my house and tidied up my room. I searched for the box that I kept on the shelf. As I was getting the box down, the doorbell rang. I heard mom's voice outside the room greeting Adrita.

"Hello aunty how are you? How's your health now?"

"Yes I'm doing good dear. Please do sit down. Would you like to have some coffee?"

"Sure aunty.... I'll speak with sam then"

As I was eavesdropping, the door opened all of a sudden and slammed right on my nose.

"Ouch! That hurts!"

"I'm sorry sam. I didn't mean to hurt you. I thought you were sleeping. Hey where you eavesdropping in your own house?"

"Well you know I was a little nervous to meet you... and this is the first time a girl has come to my house. I'm shy in front of my mom you see"

"Ahaan ok ok"

She smiled playfully and sat on my bed. I gave her the box and went out of the room. After sometime, I brought the coffee that my mom made.

"Sam where you really this serious about me? I saw everything that you had kept in the box. Shouldn't you have said this before the guy proposed me?"

"Well believe me I tried to but I was a little hesitant because you have said that you consider me only as a friend long time back"

"Yeah I can see now why you have kept all the things in the box safely. Come sit near me and give that coffee"

As I gave the coffee and sat near her, she pecked me on the cheeks all of a sudden and pretended not to notice.

As I sat mesmerized whether it really happened or not, she grabbed my chin and pecked lightly on the lips. I saw her smiling. In fact she was very pretty that day in a green frock. She came close to me and whispered in my ears

" Aama Sam enaku un mela Oru idhu" (Okay Sam I admit that I have something)

"Edhu?" (Have what?)

"Adhu!" (That!)

" Adha edhu?" (What that)

As we were speaking, mom entered the room all of a sudden. She told that my friend Timmy was waiting outside for me.
