I went to Rajasthan along with my parents the very next day through flight. Mom sat near me and started asking questions.

“Dey? Un friend ku ivlo seekiram kalyanam aidchu paathiya?” (Your friend is getting married so soon)

“Adhuku naa ena panradhu?” (So what should I do?)

“Neeyum edachu love panni tholaya vendiyadhu dhana? Enda ponunga mela ivlo aathram?” (You could have fallen in love na? Why are you so angry over girls?)

“Apdi elam onum ila ma…Amaidhiya vaanga!” (Nothing like that..Can you please be silent)

“Ilada unakum vayasu aagudhu engalukum vayasu aagudhu.. engalayum unaku ponu paaka vida maatengra” (You are getting old, so am I…But you are not letting me to find girl for you)

“Well you don’t need to be worried..I’ll tell you one thing after his marriage that will make you smile”

We reached Rajasthan and stayed at Shalini’s house for the first time in my life. My parents went along with her parents unfortunately. I spent all my free time with Yash.

“Mara! It’s almost like a dream come true..I get Shalini finally and I’m going to help Hans Zimmer in Christopher Nolan’s film…It’s all so surreal”

“Yeah! I’m happy for you… Things have been going good for me as well”

‘Hey you were trying to say something in phone but I didn’t listen properly..Can you tell me that please?”

“ Well…I got placed in Mphasis company…..the company were Gayu is working as well”

“Wow congratulations dude… That’s a dream company for people like you..Rock on! Wait a second…. You and Gayathri are in love?”

“Well…yes… how do you know?”

“She told me when I was about to meet Shalini”

“That’s a long story…. But you know behind all of my success there is another girl involved as well”

“Ha ha ya I know..you don’t need to say the name… She is one of the successful artist here and many boys are waiting in queue to marry her.. So you really don’t need to worry about her Mara”

“Thanks… but I didn’t see both of them yet still”

“Oh I think they are both staying together upstairs”

“Vaishnavi and Gayathri?”

“Yes…so have fun”

“You know my parents are trying to find a girl for me but I am afraid to tell them that I love Gayathri”

“Well… Don’t worry… I’ll take care of it..”

I thanked him and went to the room where they were staying. The entire room was filled by their laughter.

“Hey Vaishu and Gayu how are you?”

“Yes Mafia we are fine…Well I think you have something important to talk with Vaishnavi..so I’ll wait outside”

“Thanks pixie-cut”

I went near Vaishnavi and sat down. She smiled at me.

“Nice to see you togepi..you are getting prettier by the day”

“Thanks Mara”

“Well I should thank you for many things you have done to me”

“Like…”

“I got to trust girls because of you…. I got to understand love because of you…I got job because of you….”

“Ha ha enough enough… That’s what friends are there for”

“There’s more to it… I wouldn’t have got Gayathri without you… Thanks for the sacrifice you made just for me… I don’t know whether any other girl in the world will do what you did for me”

“Well…..”

She tried to speak but words didn’t come out of her mouth. Her eyes filled with tears. I wiped them. She pretended that nothing happened and smiled back.

“Please don’t forget to invite me for the wedding ok?”

“Sure shorty HOD girl!”

As I mentioned her old nickname, she hugged me tight and whispered

“You are the best friend that a girl will always dream to have Mara..Im so happy to have found you. .Thanks”

Yash’s marriage took place in a grand fashion and it was time for me to leave. I wished the newly wed couple and was about to board the flight. I saw Gayathri approaching along with her family.

I seriously didn’t expect this! What is she doing here? My parents started to look at me and asked questions. I remained silent until Pixie-cut spoiled everything.

“What ? My son loves you? You must be kidding… he is well…Mara! Speak you idiot”

“Yes mom I love her.. I want to marry her.. I want to live with her”

My mom and dad looked at me for sometime and smiled. They spoke with pixie-cut’s parents while I tugged at her..

“Hey Gayu how come? You told your parents already?”

“Actually Vaishnavi came to my house before marriage and told my parents about you”

“Oh….but why did you come here now?”

“Well.. That was due to your idiotic friend Yash hihi”

“So he told you to convince my parents just before the flight arrives?”

“Yeah..he thought that parents won’t hav much time to scold you that way…Luckily your parents understood”

“You made my day Love”

“Well we are going to come to your home in the next flight”

“Well…That’s pretty fast! But we have to join Mphasis day after tomorrow”

“Don’t worry…Vaishnavi’s father told that he can take care of it…We can work together after we get married! Sounds fun right?”

“Ha ha no Everything is weird to me right now..Well it’s time for my flight… See you at Coimbatore bye darling”

I smiled at looking at her beautiful eyes beneath the nerdy glasses. I pulled her close to me and all I did was bite her lips! She did the remaining. The kiss was never done so epic before.

After a day, Pixie-cut and her family came home to discuss about the marriage plans. I couldn’t stop smiling the entire day because it is the first time in world history that a girl’s family went to boy’s home in search of a bridegroom.

The marriage took place in great grandeur and the reception was held at the same hotel where I had first met her. I whispered to my bride.

“You know what? We are now officially husband and wife!”
