Hermione's POV
Severus and I going to Grimmauld Place for the Orders new years eve party. Eileen and Crookshanks are best friends now. But I worry about them breeding. I love cats, but I don't think Severus will want kittens. So I might be getting one or both of them desexed after the new year.
As predicted our engagement was in the daily prophet on the twenty seventh. Reports have come to try interview us. But we've made it clear no interviews until after the new year. Also we'd only give Smudgley the interview.
"You ready dear?" Severus asks.
"Yes, are the Malfoy's okay with us not going to their place?" I ask.
"They're fine, but Narcissa and Lucius wish to discuss some wedding plans" he states.
"We can go there tomorrow afternoon to discuss them" I tell him.
"That's what I told them" he says smirking and I roll my eyes. I finish doing my hair and stand up as Severus wraps his arms around me. "Do we have to go?" he asks.
"Yes, they are our friends" I tell him before apperating us to Grimmauld Place.
"Hermione, Severus glad you could make it" Tonks says as she gives me a hug.
"It's great to see you too Tonks" I reply. "Where's little Ted?" I ask.
"Upstairs, Harry was reading him a bedtime story. But we haven't seen them in an hour" Remus states. "It's nearly time for dinner" he adds.
"I can go get them" I state. "Severus why don't you go greet the others, I'll be down in a minute" I tell him. "Which room?" I ask Remus.
"Harry and Ron's old room" he states. I kiss Severus cheek gently before running upstairs. I'm so glad that got rid of that annoying painting. Well it's in Kreacher's new room, he managed to unstuck it with his elf magic. I quietly enter the room to see Harry sleeping beside Ted on the bed book on his stomach.
Ted steers slightly and smiles up at me stretching his arms up. I pick him up and kiss his cheek gently stroking his blue hair. "Harry, it's time for dinner" I say shaking him.
"Hermione, when did you get here?" he asks yawning.
"Just now with Severus, come on dinner is nearly ready" I tell him. Harry gets up and follow me downstairs as I carry Ted. We enter the kitchen where everyone is talking. "Here you go Tonks, Harry fell asleep with him on the bed" I tell her and she laughs quietly.
"He has been pushing himself hard in Auror training since Ron left" she states. I then go to greet the others and search for Severus. I greeted Hagrid and McGonagall along the way. I finally found my fiance talking to the current Minister of Magic, Kingsley. "There you are, I was looking for you" I say wrapping my arms around Severus' waist.
"Hermione, I'd like to congratulate you both of your engagement" Kingsley states.
"Thanks Kingsley, we hope to see you at the wedding in May" I tell him.
"Of course, I await my invite" he tells us.
"Dinner is ready everyone, please take your seats" Molly announces. We all sit down, me seated between Harry and Severus across from Ron. "Now before we begin, Bill and Fleur have an announcement" Molly states.
"Why don't you tell them Bill" Fleur suggests smiling.
"Of course" he says kissing her forehead gently. "We're expecting a baby" he declares and we all cheer. Molly was in cheers of having her first grandchild. Little Ted sames to appear in front of Fleur and touches her belly smiling.
"Oh he wants to meet his future friend" Ginny says smiling.
"It won't be for a while yet young open" Fleur tells him and he pouts. Remus picks up Ted and puts him back in his high chair. We then start to eat our dinner before going to the drawing room. Until we were called back for dessert, then Ted was put back to sleep.
(11:59pm)
"Time for the count down" Ron declares. Ted woke up five minutes ago and is being held by Fleur. "Ten, nine..." Ron starts the count down.
"Eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one. Happy New Year!" we all declare. As the twins set off small inside fireworks. Except these one's aren't their ever lasting ones. They'd only last ten minutes before burning out. I'm pulled into a kiss by Severus and smile happily. When we pull away I see some of the others had been doing the same thing.
(Ten minutes later)
Ted has been put back to sleep and others were following suit. Except McGonagall, Hagrid and Kingsley returned to their homes. "Do you have to go Hermione?" Ginny asks.
"Yes, we have wedding plans to go through when the sun is up" I tell her.
"Ok, take care" she says hugging me. Harry and Severus shake hands before Severus apperates us home. We then change into our night clothes in separate rooms before doing our teeth. "Severus I love you" I say as we crawl into bed.
"I love you too Hermione, dearly" he says wrapping his arms around me. I rest my head on his shoulder hand on his chest. One of his hands grab mine and we fall asleep.
