Layla

Today is my birthday! This week is all about me! This week the world revolves around me. Josiah told me to make sure I didn't book any clients for this week. I wasn't going to anyways. I wonder why he told me that.

I just got my hair and nails done. Josiah paid for my bundles and nails. I told him that I had it but he wouldn't let me buy it. Well I already had my bundles but he surprised me with more and a frontal. I normally don't get frontals but why not?

He sat there with me too for hours. "You know you didn't have to do that.", I said as we walked to his car.

"I wanted to, it's part of your surprise.", he said.

"Part of it?"

"Yeah." We got in his car. Josiah isn't the richest man but he got money. He take care of them and they always dress nice. He don't need to be spending all of this money on me. I'll let it slide though, it's only for today.

"So, there's something about me that I didn't tell you.", he said. I looked at him confused. Let me find out he married. Let me find out. Imma smack the fuck out of him. No I'm not. I don't got the balls to. "I wasn't gonna tell you until we got together and I knew you weren't with me for materialistic things but it's your birthday and I can tell that you're not like that. I won the lottery last year and now I got money, a lot. I invested it, bought a few businesses, and made more money, I'm still making it. I gave some to my momma and put some up for Amillia too of course. The house you been to isn't my real house, it's something I rented out when I realized we were becoming close-ish. That's not my only car either, I got a few better ones.", he said.

"Why are you telling me this?", I asked.

"Because I know you were going to wonder where I got all of the money from for the rest of your surprise."

"You don't have to do this Josiah. I don't need or want a lot. I just wanted us to spend some time together one day this week for my birthday."

"You deserve it.", he said. I smiled. I do deserve it. I been through hell and back and I'm still here doing what I gotta do.

"Where to next?", I asked.

"My house, my real house."

"Okay."

...

We pulled up to this big gate. He put a pin number in then the gate opened. He drove through it.

When I saw his house my mouth dropped. When I say this house is huge, I mean huge. Why do he need a house this big? "Why do you need a house this big?", I asked as we pulled up behind a car.

"I told his ass to put these cars in the garage.", he said shaking his head as he turned off the car. "But a few family members stay with me and well, I just always wanted a big ass house with a big family.", he said. I shook my head up and down then we got out. We walked up the stairs. He unlocked the door and moved over so I could go in. I went in. I saw Amillia running to the door as Josiah came in. He picked her up and closed the door with his foot. "Hey princess.", he said as he closed the door.

"Hey daddy. Hey Layla, happy birthday.", Amillia said smiling. I smiled.

"Thank you.", I said.

"Is Chris here?", Josiah asked.

"Yes. Everybody's in the back, even Kia.", Amillia said.

"Good.", Josiah said before putting her down. Amillia ran away. "Come on.", he said. I followed him to the back. "Chris didn't I tell you to put the cars up?"
