The next few days were absolutely awkward between Tom and I.
We only spoke when reciting lines and touched when necessary. It was awful. I felt awful. It was my fault anyway.
If I had just let him kiss me, he would be the fun, loving man I met weeks ago. But, also if I just let him kiss me, he would assume that I liked him.
As in like-like him.
I mean, I do like him, but I don't know if I like-like him. We've only known each other for a month tops. It's too soon to tell; well for me anyway.
"Screamer," Jose says suddenly as he threw himself down on the couch beside me. "We've come across a problem."
I look up from my sketch book and sigh, "You're letting me go aren't you?"
He raised an eyebrow, "No," he said, dragging it out long and low, "It's come to my attention that," he paused and cleared his throat, "something has clearly happened between Tommy and you."
"Oh," I mumbled as I adjusted my grip on my pencil, "that." I began to absentmindedly draw swirls on the corner of the page.
"Yes," Joss put a comforting arm around my shoulders, "that. What happened?" He asked as he gave my shoulder a squeeze.
I look down at my page and sighed, before quickly filling him in.
As well as tell him what I thought of Tom.
"Well," Joss spoke finally after a moment of silence. "you better get up and get your butt in there and start explaining then." He said as stood and pointed to the kitchen.
"What?" I asked, eyebrows raised.
"You heard me, and as your boss you have to listen to me. Tom is pouting in the kitchen and you're pouting in here." He placed his hands on his hips, "the least you can do is pout together." He took the book from my hands and pulled me to my feet. "Go."
I wanted to glare at the man, but I realized that he was right. I did need to explain my actions to Tom. "If I'm not back in 30 minutes, call the cops." I said as I made my way to the kitchen.
My breath hitched as I saw him sitting there. He back was to me and it looked to me like he was reading something. His script perhaps?
"Let that breath out, Love."
Immediately I let go of the air that I was holding. "I-I'm sorry. I-I didn't realize you knew that I was here." I stumbled over my worlds like a kid that had been caught with their hand in the cookie jar.
"It's hard to ignore your scent. Sweet-pea, isn't it?" He turned to look at me, and in that instant, I knew I was talking to Adam, not Tom. It was the way his eyes looked, they were masking something.
"Tom," I sighed as I slowly approached him. "Please, no acting. Not now. I want to explain myself for my ac-"
"There is no reason for you to explain, Honey-Bun." Adam spoke once more. "I know you didn't mean it."
"Tom, please-"
"So, Princess, what would you like to do today," he spoke fast, "I was think-"
"TOM SHUT-UP!" I screamed as I grabbed him by the arms. "IVE NEVER BEEN IN A RELATIONSHIP BEFORE AND I DIDNT KNOW WHAT TO DO, ALRIGHT?" Two sets of eyes widen, one pair is my own, you can guess who the other pair belonged to.
I released him and stumbled back. "I didn't know what to do. I still don't." I whispered, more to myself than to him. "I-I like you. I just don't know if it's the same way that you feel for me." By the end of my sentence, I'm staring down at my toes.
"Oh, Kitty." I heard a soft voice whisper as I felt two fingers gently tilt my head up. "I'm sorry. I didn't know."
"So, you forgive me?" I whispered like a child.
"With everything in me." Tom said, smiling down at me.
I grinned up at him and quickly pulled him into a hug, never wanting to let go.
"Awwwwwwwwww." A voice called out from the doorway, both of our heads turn to look at the person. Of course it's Joss. "You've finally made up. It's very touching," he said as he pretended to wipe away a tear. "Now," he said as he clapped his hands, "let's get to filming. I expect perfection from now on. No more retakes."
