Tsukino's POV:
Once again, we were running. This time, it was from rogues who seemed to want to sell us. We reached the river, and before they could catch us, I used the water in the lake and made a huge bubble around us. We both had an air bubble around our heads, so we could breathe.
The rogues, however, weren't so lucky. The momentum from their running caused them to slam forwards and end up trapped in the bubble. After a while, their bodies slumped and I released the bubble.
I was just going to collect our travel bags, when one of the bodies quickly reached for a kunai. He threw it at my sister, while I picked up a rock and threw it at the kunai without turning around. The rock bounced into the river, deflecting the kunai and causing it to stab into the man's heart. He made gurgling noises, puking blood, before going limp.
This was why I specialize in weaponry. I can always predict the path of my projectile and how it influences other people's.
My baby sister, Usagi, whimpered and hid behind me. I turned around with a reassuring smile and bent down to rub her back.
"Don't worry, the bad men are gone now. They won't take you from me." Usagi nodded, and sniffled, eyes drooping.
She yawned and replied, "Okay, nee-chan. I'm tired," and with that, she was out like a light. I giggled a little, wrapping my jacket around her. "Sleep tight, imouto-chan."
I got up to leave, but then heard a male voice speak from behind me, "We'll that was certainly an interesting show of power." I turned around quickly, with a random kunai in my hand.
Behind me was a man with spiky orange hair and purple ripple-like eyes. There was also a woman with short light blue hair and a paper rose in the bun. They were both wearing black cloaks with red clouds outlined in white.
They both seemed to radiate power and superiority, but something told me they were also very kind hearted.
"Um, hello?" I asked, not really sure of what to do in this sort of a situation. They looked at each other, before the woman stepped forward and introduced, "My name is Konan and this is Pein. What are your names and why were those people after you?"
Gathering my confidence, I answered, "My name is Tsukino and this is my imouto Usagi. Those shinobi who were after us said that they were going to sell us away. We're okay, though," I answered, deciding I could trust these people.
She smiled at us, asking the fated question, "Do you want to come with us? We could be like a family to you and your sister, and we could train you to help in the organization's goals."
I thought about that for a moment. If we went, we would have people to take care of us, and we would be helping them in return, while learning how to protect ourselves better. This is a win- win situation.
"Sure, we will join you," I answered causing Konan to smile in approval and Pein to nod. This was the start of our new adventure. Beware, Akatsuki, here we come!
