4: Tsukino's First Mission

Timeskip: 6 years (Tsukino: 12 Usagi: 9)

In the six years, both Tsukino's and Usagi's appearance had changed. Tsukino now wears a grey standard Amegakure outfit, while Usagi wore a navy blue one. Tsukino carries a single hand ambidextrous katana strapped on her back, while Usagi has her special mallet that is hard to break and stores other weapons as well. Tsukino got her nails painted purple, and Usagi got hers blue. They both cover their crescent moon birthmarks with cosmetics.

The Akatsuki except for Orochimaru know about chaos, and Tsukino specifically asked that Orochimaru never knows. He had tried to get Usagi as a bargain chip, though Tsukino always managed to get them both back safely.

Usagi's POV:

"This isn't fair! How come I can't come with you, nee-chan!" I whined out, desperately wanting to be taken along. Nee-chan got to go on a mission with Sasori-nii and Deidara-nii to Kirigakure to take out some traitors, but I have to stay here!

"Nee-chan laughed, then ruffled my hair. "Don't worry! You can stay with Konan and Pein-sama, and Orochimaru is on a mission with Itachi, so you'll be safe."

Seeing she still cared, I nodded my head dejectedly. Maybe next time.

Tsukino's POV

I really didn't like leaving her behind alone, but she needs to learn to become independent, and a mission to Chigiri no Sato (Village of the Bloody Mist), things would end up way too dangerous.

Deidara and Sasori were arguing about art as usual, so I walked up to them, and glomped them both on the heads, even if Sasori couldn't feel it, especially when inside Hiruko.

"Hey! What was that for?!" Deidara shouted at me. I replied, "We should really get going, instead of just hanging around here. We've still got a traitor to eliminate."

He glared at me, but still shut up. To the other members, I was a female version of Itachi, but only to Usagi, Konan, Pein, and Itachi, I would show my true self. Then again, Itachi is a warm hearted person, who would do anything for his little brother.

We all then jumped through the quickly thinning trees, to Kirigakure. Apparently, our target was a dark haired, hazel eyed Kunoichi, by the name of Yuri Bara, was originally sent to spy on us while pretending to spy for us. She had not yet gotten back to Kiri yet, meaning that the information is safe for now.

Nodding to Sasori and Deidara, I raised my kunai up. Yuri seemed to have felt us watching her, because her movements all of a sudden got very jumpy. I threw the kunai at her heart, and she only jumped out of the way at the last second.

"So you've finally caught on to me, huh?" She asked, sounding very cocky. Without replying, Sasori produced a blade from Hiruko and used it to slice her head clear off.

Seeing his turn, Deidara threw some clay at her now dead body, and the explosion erased all evidence that someone may find when looking into her mind.

With the five day long job now done, we headed back to the base where we were currently staying. Something didn't feel right, and I know Sasori and Deidara felt it too. We reached the base, only to find many parts blown off.

Analyzing the situation as rationally as I could, I came to a conclusion. "We're heading back to Ame. Chances are this base was attacked, and everyone is now back to our main base."

As we rushed back to the base, I had a sinking feeling in my stomach as time passed. Something really bad had happened.

The guards let us through the gate, knowing who we are. We reached the tower, and as soon as we stepped in, I was jolted by the sad attitude everyone had. Konan then looked me in the eye, before explaining,

"We're sorry. Orochimaru betrayed us, Konoha found out, they attacked, and they took little Usagi-chan!"
