It has been weeks since Hux's first encounter with Commander Y/N. According to the reports from his officers she had been diligently training hard with Ren. She also avoided any sort of contact with anyone on the ship except for Ren himself. On most days she is either in her private training room or in her living quarters. She wanted to stay invisible and out of trouble. This arrangement didn't obstructed the everyday life on the Finalizer. If anything, it was more peaceful now the Ren had his time occupied to train Y/N. Now he's too busy to destroy helpless and expensive machinery.

Like Ren, Hux was a busy man himself. Busying himself with overseeing the preparations of the First Order's ultimate weapon: Starkiller Base. The weight of this responsibility made him too occupied to even remember Y/N.

Until one day, a meeting with Supreme Leader Snoke was due. Hux marched towards the grand assembly room and turned to the final hallway that lead to the meeting room. The doors on the opposite end opened, and a figure appeared. Commander L/N. But her appearance was different from when they first meet. Firstly her eyes were swollen and filled of rage. Her cheeks were stained with dried tears. Hux paused, and was surprised to see her in this state. Y/N caught the General's eyes staring and fixed her posture, lifted a dark metal mask to her face. She gave a curt nod to the General and quickly marched off.

Hux entered the great assembly chamber that has the capacity to hold hundreds of people. But now, it was occupied by only three figures. One was Kylo Ren, the second was himself. As he approached the centre, the third was finish discussing Y/N's matter.

"She is to be in charged of the planned coup against the Republic governments and that's final."

Politics.

The words came from someone in complete control, spoken from a raised platform, a blue-tinted hologram. The tall human-like but not-quite human figure loomed over his subjects and shifted attention to a different matter. "The droid will soon be delivered to the resistance. This gives the enemy the location of a formidable ally to the Order, Luke Skywalker. If Skywalker returns, the new Jedi will rise."

Hux prepare himself to accept the responsibility and punishment on the lack of results in retrieving a single droid. But was relieved that Snoke wanted to move forward. "The weapon. It's ready. I believe the time has come to use it against the Republic governments", Hux proposed.

Snoke paused at the bold proposal and agreed. "Yes such measures are now required. Go. Prepare the weapon."

"Yes Supreme Leader." Bowing swiftly. Hux turned showing off a pleased expression to Ren and exited the chamber.

Despite having the weapon finished and ready, a lot of work needs to be done to fire it. Hux personally made sure all areas were looked after. The debut of the weapon will clearly demonstrate the unquestioning authority of the First Order.

After a long day, Hux walked toward his living quarters after being convinced by several of his officers to rest. With a lot on his mind and many things left to do, how can he rest? The whole Order depends on his performance.

As he approached the doors to his quarters he saw something against his door. His eyes stretched through the tiredness to take a proper look. It was Commander L/N, fast asleep outside his quarters. He lowered himself and found a data pad beside her. He picked it up and flipped through the screens. Profiles and background checks on pilots. It must be for her mission. Although he didn't know the details, an assumption can be made that this mission is a dangerous one, even for a Knight of Ren. So a careful screening for a pilot is necessary.

He turned his attention to Commander L/N. Her head still against his door. He leaned in to take a closer look. With the mask off, her sleeping expression looked far too peaceful to disturb. A single glance at this serene expression could convince the whole galaxy to ceasefire.

He stared intently and found fresh tears forming around her eyes. Hux reached with his bare hand to her cheek and wiped the fallen tear. Then it happened too quickly for Hux to understand. Beads of sweat formed around her forehead. Heavy breathing required her whole body's assistance to make sure her lungs were functioning. He tried to reach to call for medical assistance. It was too late. Suddenly his surroundings blacked out. Then very slowing he started to fall and then fall faster. Something was pulling him in.

The scenes shifted to a cloudy image of a couple. A voice cheerfully called. "Mama! Papa!" He turned to the source. A young girl, happily running towards him and then through his body. He turned back. The scene instantly turned ugly. The couple's faces transfigured into something less human and scared the girl away. She disappeared into the dark mist.

More voices called out, "Come here sweetie, don't be afraid." Hux had no choice but to look. The scenes changed he found himself in a field of wild flowers. The same girl, but sadder waited for this different couple to approach her. Again, everything changed. This time the couple turned themselves into monstrous beasts and screeched at the poor girl. The wild flowers burst into violent flames. He watched the girl silently wept. Once again the scene started to change. The flames quickly engulfed the girl swallowing her whole. He ran to reach her but he was caught in the flames too.

A dark forest. Hux ran frantically looking for the girl. Instead he found the back of a small hooded figure. It slowly turned. He found the girl staring at him. No. Through him. He turned. A pack of oversized wolves cornered her as prey. Once more she sobbed quietly and accepted her fate. The scene changed.

Snow. This time he immediately found her but it wasn't her. But a slightly older version of her. She was staring at a dark figure. The image became clearer. Kylo Ren. He offered a hand, she reached out. But the world underneath them shook and separating them further and further apart. Ren disappeared. This time she cried in agony.

Hux watched helplessly again. How much longer? When does it end? He wanted to help her. He had a sense of duty after seeing what the poor girl had gone through. Onward he continued and walked into a white space. He turned and found the younger version of the girl. She studied him with interest. He lowered himself to her level. There wasn't any sadness in her eyes, only curiosity. Her small hand reached him. Hux closed his eyes to make himself less threatening to the girl. Then he felt it. A sharp pain. He opened them and looked in horror. She yanked a handful of his hair off.

Then something wonderful happened. What felt like an eternity in this nightmarish hell, immediatly melted away with a smile. A smile so bright the stars will become jealous. He couldn't be mad at her. And in return his lips curled into a small smile.

"Thank-you." She whispered.

Everything started to shatter and quickly the girl drifted apart from Hux.

"Wait!" He called.

Then again he was falling into darkness. His eyes sprung open. A bedroom. One glance around he knew he was back on Starkiller Base. But he wasn't in his living quarters. He noted the details of the bedroom, a diary, a pen, and a small vase of dried flowers.

A small round medical droid suddenly appeared in his face. It beeped frantically and did a full scan of his body. He noticed his partially bare body and also found that he sweated through his clothes.

"Good. You're awake."
