Leaving Starkiller Base was difficult. You knew what Supreme Leader Snoke had planned but couldn't argue with his reasoning. As a new Commander you held no military achievements, no authority to command armies, and not even formal training in fighting. The First Order saw you as a decorated princess with some force abilities. In fact you hardly demonstrated your force abilities. Always hiding yourself away from others on the base.

But for good reason. Your force abilities were different and were never seen before in all history. They extended past other dark-side users, Kylo Ren, and Snoke himself. Even you couldn't understand your powers. But one thing is certain, you were a walking grenade. Because of how untamed your abilities were you could accidentally kill anyone and everyone around you. It happened once, and it could happen again.

That was your fall to the dark-side.

When Kylo Ren found you, he took on the task to take you as his apprentice and your first friend. You were momentarily happy training and being around Ren. As all your life there was no peace. There was only survival. You trusted the wrong people. They turned against you. Only using your naive and innocent character as tools for their own desires. It took some time for you to realise this.

Reflecting on the day Ren stepped onto the unnamed deserted planet to convince you that there was a place for you in this universe. That you weren't a monster on a leash and no longer a lab rat for a band of mad scientists. He freed you from the physical, mental and emotional captivity that held you hostage for years.

Now, despite having to leave Ren's side after your rescue, you now have determination to live on. Also now you have a reason to come back. Meeting General Amitage Hux gave your that reason. At first he was just another person astonished by your beauty. They all think of you as a pure and innocent girl. Who was far too young to be a Commander. Ren warned you about this and advised you to wear a mask. But you found the mask he had commissioned for you was suffocating and hinder your senses. Instead you started to embrace your looks and held your dark mask loosely by your side.

On that night, you wondered around the quiet hallways of the quarters that belonged to the senior staff. You knew everyone would be far too busy with the preparations on Starkiller Base to think about sleep. So you walked around freely unmasked hoping to speak to Ren before your departure. But like everyone else he was busy.

With some extra time on your hands, you stopped outside General Hux's quarters to consider speaking to him to explain your tearful exit from your meeting with Snoke. Also perhaps he could recommend a skilled pilot for your mission. But your thoughts and worries exhausted you and slowly fell into a deep sleep.

Sleep was something that never came easy for you. Nightmares would often visit your mind and left you more exhausted and than rested every night. No amount of drugs prescribed by the medical droids could put you to rest. Ren suspected that your sleeping disorders had a connection with the Force. Now it was confirmed. With General Hux's short adventure into your mind you woke up with a calmer mind, and a sleeping man by your side. Then you realised you opened up your past to a complete stranger.

Even Ren doesn't know the details of your past, nor does he care. In fact he instructed you to kill it.

"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to. That's the only way to become what you were meant to be."

You engraved those words into your mind as you exited hyperspace and approached the Neophy system. A planet you're far too familiar with.
