We drove for what seemed like hours but in reality it was only a 20 minute drive. Being with Shawn made time slow down. Before, I couldn't find enough hours in the day. Time moved so fast. Now I feel like the world stops turning and time doesn't exist when I'm with him.
"Where are we going?" I asked him.
"It's a secret." He smirked.
"Oooh mysterious." I chucked.
"You're gonna love it." He smiled over at me. "We're actually almost there, so cover your eyes."
I look over at him, annoyance on my face.
"Seriously, cover your eyes, or I'll take you back home." He said sternly.
"Geez, fine." I chuckled at his fast mood switch.
I covered my eyes and felt the truck stop moving.
"Shawn, I swear if you're killing me, I will haunt you in the afterlife."
I heard him laugh as he got out of the truck. He made his way around and helped me get out.
"Okay, you can uncover your eyes now."
I did as he said. I took in my surroundings. I gasped at what I was looking at. We were on a huge cliff overlooking a magnificent body of water. The trees were in full bloom. The birds were chirping happily and flying around. There were flowers along the passage way. It was one of the prettiest sights I've ever seen.
"Shawn, it's beautiful!" I said shocked.
"Isn't it? I love it out here. It's so peaceful. Comforting."
"It's amazing." I stared mesmerized at the view.
"So are you." Shawn said, staring at me.
"What?" I turned to look at him.
"What?" He repeated. "We should get you home." He hurriedly got into his truck.
"Oookay." I chuckled and got in the truck as well.
