This story might start a bit slowly, but that's because I want to get a solid foundation started before we start going into the problem. There will be two main problems in this story. I've planned it all out.
You guys, I'm so prepared this time omg.
Mya's POV
"Okay, so what should we do the project on," Jordan asked me as I sat in his living room. He smiled at me as he handed me a coke and sat down on the carpeted floor next to me.
"Forget that for a minute," I smiled, setting my pop on the floor, "tell me - how'd you find Joy? Hm?"
He blushed and chuckled, shaking his head as he looked down, covering his face as he smiled. He brought his knees up to his chest and wrapped his arms around them, smiling down at me as he shook his head. He nudged me gently and laughed.
"Why," he asked, "isn't that a thing that stays between her and me?"
"Yeah," I shrugged, "but I'm her best friend and she won't tell me jack shit."
Jordan smirked, bopping my nose, "then she's following my instructions."
I gasped as he leaned over to pick up a textbook. He smiled at me brightly and turned to read a page, suddenly looking very concerned.
"I'll find out eventually," I challenged, "I'll squeeze it out of her if I have to!"
"I'm seriously debating calling Harry and telling him to come pick you up," he replied. I laughed and nodded, raising my hands up in defense.
"Okay," I giggled, looking at my old friend, "sorry. I'll focus. Want to write about the first World War?"
Jordan shook his head, scrunching up his nose, "it's not as interesting as the second one, as sad as that statement is."
I snorted and nodded, looking through my textbook as he did the same, "what about the American revolution?"
Jordan hummed and shrugged.
"I feel like we should just go on YouTube and watch Crash Course videos until we find one that we like, and then write about that," Jordan said. I looked at him and felt my jaw drop at his suggestion. I placed my hand on his shoulder and looked at him in amazement. His blue eyes twinkled with amusement and he smirked.
"You," I said, "you, my friend, are a fucking genius."

"We should do Egypt," I suggested, "Ancient Egypt. I think that would be cool."
"Yeah but," Jordan frowned looking at our outline as we lay on our stomachs in his living room in front of his laptop, various papers scattered all around us, "aren't we supposed to do a project on events that caused War or something?"
I was about to reply when he spoke, "oh. Nope never mind, we can do anything we want. Okay, yeah, let's do Ancient Egypt."
I smiled triumphantly and opened up my notebook to a blank page, writing Ancient Egypt on the top in big bold letters with my pen.
"I wonder how Harry's doing with Julia," Jordan said, causing me to look over at his smiling face, "he told me they were meeting up today."
I laughed, shaking my head, "did he actually never apologize for ditching her at the dance in eighth grade?"
Jordan nodded, "and she never got over him, obviously. She still believes they'll get back together, that you'll fuck up."
I furrowed my eyebrows, "mmkay."
Jordan laughed and picked up his phone, "I'll call him to tell him to come over when he's done working on the project."

Harry showed up at Jordan's place about two hours later looking absolutely mortified. He walked in with Jordan and as soon as he saw me, now sitting on the couch, he darted right to me and cuddled up next to me. He wrapped his arms tightly around my waist as Jordan cooed at his best friend.
"Look at you," Jordan beamed, sitting down in front of us, resting his back on the couch. Harry scoffed and hit his head, mumbling curse words under his breath.
"How was hanging out with Julia," I asked, wrapping an arm around his shoulders. Harry buried his head into my neck and sighed.
"Good," he whispered, "I apologized and she said it was all good. And then she was surprisingly pretty cool for the rest of it. It scared me."
I looked to him, "her being normal scared you?"
Harry nodded his head with wide eyes, "yeah! Because it only made me wonder when and if she'd pounce!"
I rolled my eyes, "you think too highly of yourself babe."
Harry squinted at me and pouted, lifting his head up from my neck to scowl at me, "I do not. Jordan, do I think too highly of myself?"
"Yeah."
I giggled as Harry cursed again and sat up, detaching himself from me before he picked up one of the various sheets of notes we had made in the four hours we had been studying.
"Ancient Egypt," Harry nodded, "cool."
"What are you doing?" Jordan asked, looking over at his best friend. Harry smiled and sat back against the couch.
"The Dark Ages," Harry replied smugly. I smiled at him. He was a huge history nerd, although he'd never admit it, and learning about the Dark Ages and the Renaissance was probably one of his favorite periods in history, since it was all so medieval.
"Ooo," Jordan nodded, "the age for deadly disease and unprotected sex."
I scoffed and whacked Jordan upside his head causing him to huff and turn to Harry for a fist bump. I rolled my eyes and shook my head at their immaturity.
"You're both such idiots," I said. They laughed and shrugged.
"When are you two finishing your project?" Harry asked, leaning his head on the couch, "I want to take Mya out."
I smiled, "we're just going to finish the main outline of our project."
"How long is that going to take?" he asked.
"Two years," Jordan replied, "you're welcome to wait."
Harry rolled his eyes and chuckled as he leaned back and shut his eyes, relaxing against the couch. I continued working on my notes and glanced at Harry when he took out his phone and went on Instagram. I focused back on my work and smiled lightly to myself as I wrote down new facts.
I wasn't smiling for any particular reason. I was just happy.
It was a nice feeling.
