Annabeth

Hazel woke me up, as usual.

"Good morning, it six thirty." She informed me. I yawned and sat up, stretching.

"Thanks. Good morning to you too. Where's Piper and Reyna?" I asked.

"Piper already left with Jason, and Reyna didn't come back last night." Hazel was already dressed in her white jeans and Purple SPQR T-shirt. Her short curly fluffy hair was tied back today.

"Okay." I yawned again and my stomach rumbled. "Ughhh." I hate Wednesdays.

My roommate was Reyna, and my friends were luckily next door, Piper and Hazel are roommates.

I got up and Hazel went back to her room. So I went to the bathroom and began to get dressed. I wore faded blue jeans and my Orange Half-Blood long sleeved shirt. I put my hair in a ponytail, a few of my curly bangs hung out but that was okay. I also wore my blue Yankees cap.

I opened the door and across the hall was my old time friend Thalia.

"Hiya." She said greeting me.

"Hey."

I had known Thalia ever since I was seven years old, I had run away with her and another, guy, Luke. After we had been caught we were sent here, to Half-Blood Academy. They contacted our parents, and they had all agreed to keep us here.

I had never met my real mom, but my step mom was kind of a twit. And my dad agreed with her to just send me off to some boarding school. Thalia and Lukes situations were worse though, both of there parents didn't even care much about them.

I also really hated Half-Blood Academy. It wasn't fair that parents could just ship their kids off so they wouldn't have to deal with them. It was bullshit. Not to mention the schools bullies. With this being a school for troubled youth, there was bound to be some criminals.

However, the main people who have me trouble when I was younger was Clarrise and Drew. They weren't friends themselves, but they were both my tormentors when I was younger. They still hated me and caused me trouble, but it isn't as bad as it used to be. And my friend Piper is targeted by Drew more than me. It sucks.

So Thalia and I walked to class, we had Geometry first period. I sat next to Leo, Leo was an okay kid. We weren't really friends though. More like acquaintances. There was no one sitting on the other side of me.

Leo wasn't allowed to wear his tool belt in class but he always had a screw driver or pencil behind his ear. With his pockets full of gears and wires.

The teacher started class, and he gave us our assignments. And he made sure to scold Leo and tell him not to cause any disruptions, and Leo answered him with;

"It isn't me you should be worried about Teach, It's the Stolls." Leo shot Conner a grin, and Conner shot back a smile.

The classroom door opened and a boy with slick black hair and green eyes walked in. He wore the Orange Half-Blood shirt, and there was no doubt he wasn't new.

"I-uh, sorry I'm late. I'm Percy, I got lost. This is Geometry right?" He asked.

"Yes, Please take a seat." The teacher motioned for him to close the door.

Percy looked around and saw an empty seat next to me. He sat down and I wished I could have warned him that pretty much everyone in my row was pretty much an outcast, or very unpopular.

"I don't want any disruptions, please work with your shoulder buddy."

Leo was working with the girl next to him, her name was Erica, and she actually couldn't talk. She was mute.

So I turned to Percy, my only available  shoulder buddy. "Okay, number one." I sighed and pulled my Yankees cap down, wanting to disappear. I wasn't good at talking to people.

"What's your name?" Percy asked.

"Annabeth." I said simply.

He nodded. "Do you like Math?"

I nodded back at him. "I like it," I replied, "But I profer History, language arts. And agriculture."

He nodded. "Math isn't really one of my best subjects. And I have dyslexia." He shrugged.

"Yeah, actually a lot of kids here have it. I do too, I've just sort of overcome it."

"That's pretty cool, I wish I could do that. I usually flunk because of it."

"I'm okay with grades, I have all A's and B's at the moment." I muttered. I probably sounded like a complete dork to this guy. It was also quite weird that the conversation had gone on for this long. No one new every really talked to me, and I only ever talked to my friends.

"You must be really smart then, huh wise girl?"

"Wise girl?" I asked not being able to hide the smile that crept it's way onto my face. "What kind of nickname is that?"

"A good one." Percy smirked back.

"Well then you need a nickname too, what do you like to do?" I asked. Percy seemed like a great guy, he would definitely fit in with my friend group.

"I like swimming and surfing." He said shrugging.

"Okay then, Seaweed brain." I teased.

"Seaweed brain?" He laughed. His laugh was angelic, and it made me mad at myself that I found him attractive. I couldn't crush on anyone, not again after what happened last time with Luke..

The bell rang and I flinched. I also realized I got none of my work done, neither did Percy.

"Shit." I whispered to myself. "Well see you later Kelp Face." I said gathering up my books."

"Goodbye, bird brain." Percy said giving me a smile. I smiled back, and then proceeded to walk out of the classroom and into the hall.

I found Piper, walking with her boyfriend Jason. I walked with them and we small talked. I had them both in my next class.

Piper had light brown hair, and was Native American. Her hair was kind of messy but in a good way, she had thin braids along the sides of her head and her hair was cut unevenly, and she wore no make up. She didn't like attention from anyone besides her dad. Her dad was a famous actor, and he sent Piper here because she would do crazy things that got her in trouble to get the attention of her father. I couldn't blame her though, I did similar stuff when I was younger.

Jason was Thalias younger brother. They both had a drunk mother, and so they were pretty much stuck here until they turn 18, and Thalia turns 18 in a few months.

But that was there business, everyone here had a story. Everyone here had a past.

"I'm going to head to the rest room real quick, I'll met you guys in class."

"Okay, see you." Piper said.

I turned the hall to head toward the bathrooms, but was tripped.

I heard two people laugh behind me, and I knew these people too well. Clarrise and Chris, the evil power couple of the academy.

"How's it going, wise girl." Clarrise said in a mocking tone. My blood boiled in anger at them, and at myself. Clarrise sits behind me in Geometry, how could I have been so stupid? No doubt Clarrise would make up some fake rumor about me doing the dirty with the new guy Percy, like she has done to numerous other people.

I got up and began to walk away. I knew I could easily fight Clarrise off in a fight, but it wouldn't be fair two on one. And I didn't want to get in trouble for fighting. If anything, fighting would make it worse.

I walked away, ignoring the rude and snarky comments they called after me. I went to the rest room and finally made it to class just as the bell rang.

I sat next to Piper and put my head down on the desk and groaned.

"What's wrong?" Piper asked.
"Clarrise." I muttered. Piper nodded in understatement, and rubbed my back.

Class went by quickly, but I still had six more to attend to. I just wish today would be over soon.
