Jade's P.O.V.

I slipped on a dark hoodie and a pair of black skinny jeans. I grabbed my phone from my nightstand, putting it in my back pocket. I tip-toed as quietly as I could down the stairs stopping just in front of the door. Why am I doing this? I asked myself this same questions nearly ten times, still not coming up with an answer. I gripped the door handle and slowly turned it, silently hoping for it not to creak. I pulled it open and quickly, but quietly, shut it behind me.

It was a short walk to the park, only about ten minutes. When I arrived it was only 11:52. The park had been closed a couple of years earlier due to unsafe equipment. The slides were all rusty with a few missing steps, the monkey bars looked as though the would snap under pressure, and the swings looked like the were falling apart. It pained me to see it this way. When I was younger this place used to be my escape. I would come here and sit on one of the swings to read.

I sat on one of the benches that had once been blue. The paint was nearly chipped all the way off revealing the metal beneath. I sat silently waiting for the boys to show. It was almost midnight and the only light was that being provided by the full moon overhead.

I heard a crunching sound from the right so I snapped my head in that direction. From the shadows emerged three figures. My breath hitched in my throat and my palms grew sweaty. I immediately started thinking the worst. Why on earth would I ever meet three complete strangers in an abandoned park at midnight? Oh, wait, I've already answered this question. Because I'm a complete and total idiot.

The boys walked out of the shadows all wearing dark attire. Josh and Cody were first followed by the boy who's name I didn't know yet. "I still don't think this is a good idea." Why do I love that voice? I stood from my spot on the bench to face them as Cody and Josh shushed him. He had a displeased look on his face as the boys walked closer to me.

"Glad to see you could make it,Jade," Josh said happily. "Hello again sweetheart," Cody said with a mischievous smile. I smiled to them both but my eyes kept glancing at other boy. Josh seemed to notice this because he spoke up saying,"Sorry, you two haven't met. Jade this is Daniel. Daniel this is Jade." He glanced at me once before averting his eyes back to the ground. "You'll have to excuse him. He usually doesn't talk when he's angry," Josh said apologetically. "Why is he mad?" I asked confused. "Because he doesn't agree with us," Cody answered. "On what?" "Well sweetheart. That's exactly why we're here."

I took a seat on the bench and waited for them to continue. Josh and Cody took a seat on either side of me while Daniel stood off to the side. "We have this person that we need to get close to but he doesn't like us very much and he already knows all of our friends. We need a special someone that he doesn't know of that can get close to him without him figuring out that person is working for us,"Josh said slowly. "That's where you come in sweetheart." I looked at Cody with a confused expression.

"Me?" He nodded his head. Me. "We need you to get close to this person. Make him trust you and believe that you would never betray him. Make him fascinated with you but never actually let him fall for you," Josh continued. "And don't fall for him," Cody said sternly. I was dumbfounded for a moment before I said a little quietly,"Why would a guy ever be fascinated with me?" The boys looked at me like I had grown another head and I heard Daniel scoff. I snapped my head in his direction sending him a slight glare.

"Sweetheart, you're a babe. The only problem is you lack confidence so no one ever notices it. Besides, your his type." "His?" Josh spoke up saying, "Tobias Moore. He runs the west-side gang. He's a dangerous guy but he has a soft spot for cute brunettes. Your his type. Now we won't make you do this if you don't want to but it would help us out a lot. We need to gain information on him and some of his past affairs. It may be dangerous, I won't lie about that, but we could really use your help. Are you in?"

I sat silently thinking over everything the boys had said. I do want to help them but at the same time it's dangerous. It also would be cool to have something crazy happening in my life. Should I really do this? Of course I already knew the answer. No. But was I actually going to say no? No. "I'm in," I said breaking the silence. Have I ever mentioned how stupid I am? If I haven't, let me say it again. I am a complete and total idiot.
