"lucas?" i asked shakily. everything that's happening is so surreal and i'm afraid it's all a joke. my left hand continues to pinch my arm, i'm convinced i'm dreaming.

"clementine." i heard his sweet voice, a small chuckle was audible through my phone. i instinctively smiled when i heard him.

"am i dreaming?" i asked as my emotions took over. i'm now sobbing and i'm feeling everything all at once: joy, fear, sadness, excitement,
anxiety, and love.

"no you're not." lucas said. "are you crying?" he asked, it was obvious he was worried. "please don't cry, i don't know how to help pretty girls who cry."

i laughed. "i'm sorry, it's just— i'm really happy." i said wiping my cheeks which were wet from tears.

"well if i was there i'd hug you." he said. i knew he was smiling. a part of me could tell whenever he smiled his gorgeous smile.

"well i wish you were here." i said as i rapped my foot nervously. "then i could here you say my real name in person."

"i'll say your name a million times if you'd like me to." he informed me and we shared a laugh. "but now something important."

"what is it?" i asked as i leaned against my beds headboard.

"how will we tell penny and everyone without them having aneurysms?" lucas said barely containing his laughter.

"i don't think we should do it over text." i tell him. "mostly because i need to see penny's face when she learns."

"as do i." lucas agreed.

"maybe we can all have a big birthday party for no reason. nobody will question me because well... i'm me." i said. lucas laughed making me feel warm.

"that isn't false." lucas told me. "i like that idea."

"we can have it at my house." i tell him. "my parents won't care, but you need to get a cake so my brother doesn't eat it all."

"deal." lucas smiled.

"deal." i laughed a little.

"maybe deal will be our always." lucas told me and i laughed even more.

"you're a cliche lucas zumann." i tell him.

"and you're beautiful clementine winters." he responded.

"i'll see you soon."

"deal?" he asked.

"deal."

is this cute? i kinda think it is. oh well. anyways i've decided i'm going to shout out people on these authors notes, either people who comments and makes me laugh or just generally kind people. today i'd like to shout out daisyridles . thank you for commenting and being apart of this story for probably the entirety of it. anyways i love you all so much and keep up the positivity.
