My pulse pounds through every muscle. Pain courses through my body as my heart races with fear, bones stretch but dont break. The white sheets of metal that hold the plane together fall in on me in my head. Sweat rolls down my forhead. I tap my foot but am stopped by Fang who, when I look at him, nods his head to the other wolves who sit or stand much like me, each of us battling with the difficulties of waiting to help our packs.
A few sit meditating pushing every ounce of power into offering advice or that extra little push of encouragement. I dont, can't, even if I want because my power must go to control the 16 alpha's from shifting. Each of us struggle some even breaking bones and healing them to stay sain. Faces contort in pain from holding in our wolves. I try to smile at them, but cant get out more than a grimace. It wont help them. They need to know that their pack, their children, are safe. I concentrate back on my pack realizing that I had started falling asleep, my mind was shutting down from exhaustion, so I try to relax my muscles and save energy. I will die before falling asleep when my pack is in danger. I call for Alex just focusing on him for a minute without any noise.Markus nods telling me we will be landing. I command each person to stand prepared to get off. They will not push or fight each other to get to there packs. This idea alone angers them causing me to stumble against the power which is pulled from me for strength.
The plane circles and anticipation hightens in everyone. Fang laces his fingers through mine causing sweet icicles to course through my body. I draw strength from that giving me that last push to get them to their packs . "Alex," I say and open the link to everyone. All the packs are coming in now, and it seems like everyone has the same problem. Vampires and werewolves coming left and right trying to break through the borders of every pack. Everyone is stretched to their limits. Alex gives me an update, only a few are dead from each pack, but a lot are injured and unconscious. They cant get them off the field and to help and the doctor is moving as fast as he can, but can't do much cause he keeps getting caught in the fight. They don't know what to do. The people are vulnerable laying on the ground unconscious, so I tell him get the oldest kids that aren't on the field to move the bodies to safety, and its their job to watch them. They aren't happy with it because the oldest are only sixteen, but they are all bout to become worriers, so this is going to be their final test.I shouldve expected this. It usually happens when the alpha's away because we aren't able to help our packs. The pain it brings to alpha's is satisfaction enough for the anti - treaty members, but they'll do anything to completly taerbdown the packs.
I cant stop thinking about it. The pain I felt when boarding the plane was the worst ever. It felt like someone was trying to rip my heart out after freezing it with boiling hot tar, but that pain eases has Fang plays with my fingers. Kiowa winces as we all feel the impact of one of his members death.
We jump off the plane as the steps lower.
Screaming and howling, can be heard from here. Our packs call to us but I couldn't pay attention. Each person runs as I stand here. A few vampires go with each alpha causing me to look to Fang. "They voluntered. Its them you'll have thank." He says.
I try to smile but I cant. I cant hold myself up anymore. In the back of my mind I know I needed to pull myself together. I just couldn't, but eventually Mark was able to get me off the ground. He was yelling at me but I couldn't hear. I looked for Alex and start calling orders to gaurds that weren't there. After awhile Mark was able to get me to calm down enough to explain everything. Every part of my brain is being used. I focus the werewolves, my pack, and everyone else's pack, I give them power when needed.I still have to bite my tongue to keep from screaming.
A lot of times their is a hesitation when thinking in wolf form because everyone know what your thinking, but people don't care right now and the link could save your life. Its chaos. People are everywhere, and there are so many red glowing eyes. Days pass of fighting before they finally retreat leaving very few dead behind. We barely made a dent, causing me to ball my hands. By the time we land there is no one left to fight so all alpha's go to there pack hospital to help out in any way. We calm everyone down and get all the kids fed and in bed before helping every one else.
