Chapter 4: First battle

Both James and Bloom were currently in a field of flowers and they were sitting right next to each other. James knew this place thanks to Alex's mother and so she felt that Bloom should see its beauty as well.

"So majestic and peaceful. Unlike the past when people kept coming after us because of our power" said Bloom.

"Yeah, that was a very hectic time for us........and I really missed you Bloom" said James.

"Me too James, me too. I always knew that Daphne was alright because she's with Thoren and I could always see her.......but I never knew how you were holding up.......ever since we went our separate ways. You never found your chosen one and you kept on wandering from place to place. Me and Daphne were really worried for you, wondering if you were doing ok" said Bloom.

"Sorry to have worried the two of you.....but you were right to be concerned. I do wonder........how long have I spent in the wilds? Traveling the world, seeing the world, watching the people over the ages. The thing about being immortal is that........you're an observer, we record history as it was and as it will be. So many people have looked for us, the ones that wanted absolute control over everything. But not a day goes by......when I don't think of you or Daphne" said James as she hugged Bloom.

"Me too and Daphne as well. I just wish that the three of us could be together forever, no.....going our separate ways and no worries about those who wish to abuse us for their own benefits" said Bloom as she embraced James tightly.

"..........You know why we can't do that, its not safe and unwise for two or all three dragon gods to be together.......otherwise we risk everything and put the whole world in danger" said James sadly while holding onto Bloom.

"This world has always been broken" said Bloom sadly.

"And there are probably thousands of other realities out there that share the same fate, maybe there's even a version of me out there who was born as a boy and instead of a girl" said James.

"Hehe, I don't think I can ever imagine you as a guy" said Bloom with a grin.

"Hey, it could happen. Maybe it already has but I just don't know it, the possibilities of spacial dimensions are endless and I know what I'm talking about" said James.

"Smart alec" said Bloom.

"Change that C to X and it'll be smart Alex" said James.

"Hahaha! That's good.........speaking of Alex, he must have done something pretty significant in order to get your attention. After all these years, you've finally found someone that you can trust with your life" said Bloom.

"And I don't regret it, that Alex..........there's something about him that........sets him apart from others. I don't know if it was my head or my heart that was pointing me towards him but I saw the goodness within him, the lengths he would go to in order to save his mother from meeting a fatal end just got to me. And now, after spending some time with him, I know what kind of person he is and I feel obliged to help out in whatever way I can. I can trust him, trust him with my life......and my power" said James.

"Mmm.......same with me and Sky, there's no one else that I'd rather be with. But its a shame really............that time will eventually take him away from me, I don't want him to go" said Bloom.

James could only bring Bloom closer towards her and embrace her lovingly. She knew that Alex would also lose himself to the ravages of time and that their time together would be limited.

Soon both girls could sense it, their chosen ones were approaching them from behind. Getting up and turning around, James and Bloom could see Sky giving Alex a pep talk while they were walking towards them.
