Chapter 9: Schoolmates and dinner

"Now let's see, we'll need someone to show Rose around the school and......." said the headmaster.

"I want that guy over there!" said Rose as she pointed at Alex.

"M....me.........?" asked Alex as he pointed at himself.

"Well alright then, it's settled! Alex, please kindly escort Miss Rose throughout the property. Because of this arrangement, both Rose and Alex are excused from classes just for today. That is all" said the headmaster.

Once everyone else had gone, it was just Alex, Ben and Rose in the room now. Along with their respective fairies of course.

"Nice to meet you Alex, I'm Rose and this is my fairy, Rosella" said Rose as her fairy soon appeared at her side.

"Well you already knew me but I'm Alex and the one behind me is James" said Alex with a blush because James had wrapped her gloved arms around him protectively.

"I'm Ben and the fairy behind me is Jillian" said Ben with a blush as well because she was doing exactly the same thing as James but more relaxed.

"I saw you on TV, you're a hotshot newcomer from what they said" said Alex.

"Yep but I can't take all the credit, most of it goes to Rosella herself" said Rose as she gestured towards her fairy.

"In a way, they're right since I won a tournament but I'm actually no different from you or Ben. I still have a lot to learn and there's still a lot that I don't know about Rosella. Although she insisted that I find out for myself" said Rose.

"It's good practice, it'll make you smarter. And I never thought I'd see you again James, with a partner no less" said Rosella.

"So you two have met before?" asked Alex.

"I'll label Rosella as an acquaintance but for Jillian it's another story, they're practically best friends and rivals" said James.

"So why the protective gesture Jillian? You don't suspect that I would attack your chosen one...do you?" asked Rosella.

"Hehe, sorry but now that I've found my partner, not taking any chances. Plus I don't think he would mind me being this close to him" cooed Jillian as she nuzzled with Ben.

"Heh, well I don't plan on fighting you two anytime soon. Besides the fact that James is a dragon god, I don't think my plants would enjoy fighting against the fire from you two" said Rosella.

"Because plants and fire means a forest fire right?" asked Alex.

"There's that but Rosella is also talking about our elements. Although in my opinion, that doesn't change anything because any element can fight each other on equal grounds, it's all on who uses them" said James.

"Hey Jillian, what is James talking about? What elements?" asked Ben.

"Let's take me and James as examples. Our powers may differ in how they're used and what they represent but the common thing that they have with each other is that they're both fire elements. For Rosella, what she has is the nature element. Although not as good as Flora, her control over plants is also superb and her other ability.......a transformation of sorts.....is also under the nature category. Remember your fairy piece and whatever element you choose affects the fairy you have? Those are the elements right there" said Jillian.

"Transformation?" asked Ben.

"Let's save that for another time, for now...let's have Alex show us around" said Rosella.

"Oh yes, I still have class though. Lucky you Alex, you're spared from today's lessons. You better show Rose around the place properly because if she gets lost, it's on you" said Ben with a smirk before walking off with Jillian.
