[Jane's POV]

"Okay, so i'm gonna time how long it takes for you to run to that line." Mal explained, with a stopwatch in her hand. I opened my mouth to speak when I saw it. A golden coloured fur horrendous, bug-ridden, maniacal, wild beast. I started screaming my head of and ran to the woods. The brute barked continuously and ran after me. I kept looking back which almost made me run into a tree.

"Jane? Jane, where are you?" Mal shouted.

I climbed up that very tree I almost ran into and continued screaming while the monster tried climbing up the tree after me. Mal finally caught up with me.

"Get that devil away from me!" I yelled.

Mal laughed and picked the creature. "Hey, that's ironic."

"What is?"

"Your surname is De Vil, yet you're calling him a devil."

"Fine, fine. But what do you think you're doing? That rabid pack animal will eat you alive!"

"Who told you that?" Mal smirked at me.

"My mother."

"Cruella De Vil?"

"Is there any other dog yellers called Cruella De Vil?"

"You haven't met a dog, have you?"

"Of course not! I'd be dead if I was."

"This," she held up the dog, "is Dude. Dude, meet Jane."

"He doesn't seem very life threatening."

"That's because he isn't." Mal smirked and handed the dog over to me. "So, you guys have it pretty rough on the Isle, huh?"

"Yea."

"Good girl. I, um, I mean, good job with the sprints. I'll just leave you two alone." Mal ran back towards the direction of the school."

[Mal]

As I jogged back to school, I saw Ben and Doug on the tourney field. Ben hit the ball into the goal and the rest of the tourney people were sprawled all over the field. I walked up to him and gave a slow round of applause, which made him turn around.

"Oh, hey." he smiled.

"Nice shot there. Though, could you perhaps score a goal without slamming into everyone?" I smirked.

"Maybe. Won't hurt to try." he answered. I saw Doug run over to the bleachers and decided to follow him.

"Ben."

"Hm?"

"Do you see that?"

"What?"

"Under the bleachers." I said, pointing.

"There's someone there. Big whoop."

"It's Doug. And I think the other person is Uma."

"In the mood to eavesdrop?" he raised an eyebrow at me. I gave him a nod and we walked silently over to the bleachers.

[Doug's POV]

I stood there waiting for Uma. When she finally showed up, it was already 3:05 pm. Late.

"Sorry, I had to fix my makeup, and make sure my dress matches my shoes, and there were no loose threads in my dress a-" she babbled.

"Why did you tell me to meet you here?" I asked, trying to make it sound polite.

"Well, I saw you were so smart in Science class, and I thought you might wanna hang sometime." Uma stepped closer to me.

"Oh uh, y-yea sure."

"But there's a slight problem," she pouted, "I've got too much homework on my hands, and I can't complete it in time."

"I could help you. I have a magic mirror, that's how I knew the answer in Science class."

"Are you sure?" I bet she didn't care that much, but hey, if I finished her homework, she'll hang with me.

"Yea." I smiled. She smiled back at me and gave me her backpack.

[Evie]

As soon as I saw Uma left, I came up to Doug.

"You know, she's only using you to do her homework for you."

"Who cares? She likes me."

"Doug. Don't pander to others, and just be yourself. I bet a lot of girls would like you for you." Like me.

"I bet. Hey, you wanna study together sometime?"

"Yea, sure. Wait, what time is it?" he showed me his watch. 3:15. "Sorry, gotta go. I'm supposed to meet up with Mal."

"I'll see you around?" Doug brushed a piece of hair out of his face.

"Yea." I turned around and went off in search of Mal. Then, something pulled me into a bush.

"Ow. Ow. Ow." I swatted their hand. To my surprise, I saw Mal and Ben. "Were you eavesdropping?"

"Erm.." Mal squirmed under my gaze.

"Yes. We eavesdropped, and we think you like Doug." Ben said, plainly. I stared at him.

"I do not!" I made a show of looking offended.

"Oh, relax. It's not like we'll tell anyone. Except for Jay, and Carlos." Mal mumbled.

"Mal, don't you dare-"

"Why not?" she whined.

"Because." I glared at her.

"Um guys? I'm still here." Ben waved at us, even though we were right next to each other.

"Right." I answered.

"But you did have a point, when you talked to Doug." Ben murmured, "I'll try talk some sense into that brain of his later. By the way, when are we gonna leave this bush?"

All of us started swatting at leaves and branches as we tried to make a way out of the thick, overgrown bush.

"I really regret hiding here." Mal said.
