PRESTON

~*~*~

Waking up the next morning was pure bliss. Just as I'd left him, sweet little Lexi was curled up against my side. I didn't understand why I was so worried about him, but yesterday had been a bit nerve-wracking. I didn't fully admit to Lexi how strong my worry was, but to myself, I admitted one hundred percent that I was scared of having him out of my sight.

I was brought out of my thoughts as Alex stirred beside me. He buried his head further against my neck and wrapped his leg around my torso. Talk about morning wood. I groaned softly to myself as I felt my nether regions begin to tighten.

Looking down to the little bundle beside me, I smiled to myself. This was a sight I could definitely get used to. I didn't want to move, I just wanted to continue holding him.

I sighed and reluctantly untangled myself from him, sitting up from the bed.

"Hey! My pillow!" I turned around as Alex cried out, only to be met with a fuzzy image. My heart squeezed with sadness. If only I could see him clearly.

"Lexi, it's time to get up. It's almost-" I looked towards the large digital clock beside my bed and squinted. "Jesus, it's almost noon. I've got to get ready, Lex. The construction crew is coming later today."

I heard him sigh and climb out of the bed as well. A pang of guilt struck my chest, but I stayed quiet and stood from the bed, moving to my drawers to look for casual clothes. I had memorized which drawer held which item of clothing, seeing as I didn't like shoving my nose straight into the clothes. It made me feel like a fool.

Once I'd gotten my jeans on, there was a sharp knock at my door. I didn't feel like having intruders at this time, especially since I was still fighting a raging boner.

I made my way over to the door just as I heard the shower turn on in my bathroom. Oh how I longed to join that little muskrat. I shook my head clear of the indecent thoughts that had begun to corrupt my mind. I opened the door, my lethargic mood spiraling into irritation.

"Hello, Sara. What do you want?" I didn't need to have clear vision to know it was her. She always had that Chanel No.5 aroma, like an old woman had drowned in it.

What distorted features I could actually see, it looked like she was making a face. She shoved her head into the room and stared over at the shower. "Who's in the shower?" she questioned. I could hear the note of wariness in her voice.

"Lexi is," I spoke lightly, as if it wasn't a big deal, "He spent the night in my room." Was it just me, or did her face start turning red? I had to fight down the shit-eating grin that had begun to form along my lips.
