Chapter Fourteen
The Loss
"Kristen!!!!!"
I heard Myka scream from below. I was just about to die when I felt warm water around me. I was very lucky. I started
to swim to shore, when an hook appeared in front of me.
"James!"
"Now climb aboard unless you want the mermaids to get you, or worse." He looked up at Jack who was flying down to
get me.
I grabbed his hook and he pulled me onto his ship with ease. I came up and gave him a hug. I miss you! I missed you too
but now is not the time for reunion. Jack landed on deck.
"Jack why don't we just start a new life here? Just like you did after you took me two months ago?"
"No. You went too far when you jumped out if my arms like that. Someone has to die." He looked over to James.
"Stop!"
It was too late. James and Jack already started to fight. James had his sword and Jack had his dagger. I ran away from
them, not wanting to get caught up in the madness. Jack paused for a moment, the glared at me. James cut Jack across
the face. It made his eyes go black and he stormed at James and almost took off his arm.
"She will be mine!"
"Good luck with that. She loves me."
"Liar."
"Ask her yourself. Sorry to tell you mate but when I kidnapped her she was a little busy lip locking with me."
Jack let out a scream and grew angrier if possible. He flew up and landed in front of me. He grabbed my wrist. My heart
was beating fast. He dragged me into the air but I wriggled out once more and landed with a thud.
"Now you must die."
He took my wrist once more and lifted his dagger in the air, and was about to strike.
"No!!!"
Suddenly James swung his sword and cut off Jack's left hand. Jack stumbled back. His eyes grew scared. James stabbed
him in the heart. I ran over to him with tears in my eyes.
"I'm so sorry. I love you infinity times infinity."
I kissed him one last time. I placed the ring he had given me in his palm and whispered in his ear,
"Goodbye Jack. I love you too."
