Never! (a Zalfie Fanfic)

I got dressed in a sky blue dress with a white collar, and matching white flats. I was still 20 minutes early, so I walked to a post office across the road from Starbucks. I bought myself a fashion magazine and went to Starbucks. After I got a coffee, I sat down in a corner and started absently flicking through the magazine.

After 5 minutes, Alfie showed up. He was wearing a black hoodie and a pair of black converse. He got himself a coffee and sat down next to me.

"Hi Zo!"

"Hey" I replied, putting aside the magazine.

"What you doing?"

"I was waiting for you to show up!" I said, smiling.

He smiled back, taking a sip of his coffee. "What are your plans for this week?"

"I'm babysitting Darcy tomorrow, Louise and Matt are going out for dinner. You?"

"Nothing, really"

We finished our coffee and not long after, we both went home.

The doorbell rang.

I glanced at the time. 5 o'clock. I ran for the door and threw it open.

"Chummy!" Louise cried, hugging me.

"Hi, Chummy!" I replied, hugging her back. "Would you like a cup of tea?"

"No, I have to run. It's a half-an-hour drive and I'm already 5 minutes late! I'll pick up Darcy at 9 o'clock tomorrow."

"OK!" I smiled and she waved as she ran for her car.

"Bye!" She called back. I waved.

"Schoee!" A little voice screeched as Darcy flung herself around my legs.

"Hello, Darcy! Do you want to go play?" I asked her.

She nodded. I carried her inside.

After dinner, I put a Disney movie on for Darcy. She lay down on her mattress, and I lay down on the couch. Slowly, I felt myself falling asleep.
