Luna sighs closing her eyes and finally they can leave the rink. Applauses are all around them, the music is getting quieter and quieter until it’s all gone and Luna just shivers with excitement in every part of her small body, smiling at all people who keep looking at her and her team, her parents grinning, Nina flashing with her camera still taking photos and Juliana wearing this tight smile on her face, but Luna knows that their trainer is actually proud of them, but waits for later to say something nicer.
They wait a little more waving around and smiling before they skate off the rink. Juliana nods at her to just go to the lockers and chill a little after their performance, while the rest will stay there and watch next team performing. If Luna hadn’t had this small accident three months ago, which kept her for almost two months away from skating, she definitely would’ve stayed, but she has to keep her ankle away from long skating without a break when she doesn’t need her skates on.
The locker room is empty so she can sit down on this small bench and breathe a little, cursing the break and her worse condition because of it, though it’s not like she is able to change that in this very moment. She reaches for the water bottle from her locker and her converses, leaving them on the floor as plays with the hem of her skirt before actual changing to her shoes.
Five minutes later Luna gets up, all ready to see if anything on the competition changed, but all she manages to see is black shirt when someone, very surely, bumps into her. Hands on her waist keep her up and she herself is trying to find some support on the - probably - guy’s chest.Luna pulls away after finding some balance and looks up, wanting to apologize immediately, but as soon as she sees this satisfied smirk on the guy’s face, freezes. Dark, curly hair, kinda sticking in all directions, yet somehow neat and in some order, and dark brown eyes really fit his black outfit. She blinks surprised at him, trying to guess where she knows his face from, but all Luna is able to do is count those pale freckles around his nose.
Few seconds pass and he clears his throat moving her away, and in the very same moment he opens his mouth, Luna blurts out: “You are from the Sliders,” she mumbles and coughs softly, to have her voice surer next time.
His smirk widens in a matter of milliseconds. “I know you, sunshine. You are from ‘we love the beach balls’, also it’s okay, I forgive you falling all over me. I would have done the same, if I were any of you.”
Luna pouts, not sure what is he even talking about, but decides to focus on important things. “Jam and Roller. It’s Jam and Roller team.”
He leans lazily against the lockers, still in his skates which makes him look like a skyscraper next to tiny her. “Oh really? Because it looked like The Little Mermaid.”
The brunette huffs very loudly and crosses her arms, trying to look more serious, but he just chuckles and Luna, never used to not liking someone so quickly, can’t find anything nice in this pretty boy; it seems like he is here only to put her down, and she won’t let that happen.
“Who do you think you are to talk to me like this?” She scrunches her nose softly, glaring at him a little and he grins, showing his teeth. “Do you know who I am, though? Because it doesn’t seem so.” He leans closer and Luna takes one step away, tripping a little.
“I don’t know who you are, but I know that you are too full of yourself, fresa.”
The guy chuckles. “I am Matteo, and I guess it’s okay you didn’t hear of me before. It must be more complicated to know about famous people when you live under water.”
Luna bites on her lower lip, deciding to ignore the boy, who names himself Matteo, and just leave. She is definitely better than this and won't let herself get provoked by him. She shakes her head, feeling how her hair tickle her cheeks bouncing softly and sighs taking a step back to pass him by freely.
