This is my first time writing fanfiction so don't expect much.
Tendrils of amber danced across brown eyes. Irene looked solemn as she stared at the house erupting flames. A man's voice cut through her thoughts.
"A guardian? Here of all places? What could possibly live through such a tragedy?" Though his face held a frown, his eyes spoke mischief.
"You know very well who, considering it's your job collecting souls, dear reaper" Irene spoke in a clipped tone.
"My,my, tone the anger down dear guardian. And anyways, the time for the taking has come. I hope to never see you again. "
The man dissolved into gold wisps. Sure enough, screams erupted from the house. Sighing, Irene made her way down towards the burned manor.
As she trudged through remains, she heard a whimper. Following the sound, she came upon a boy, no older than six, covered in soot and scratches.
•a protection spell• she thought. Her heart softened at the sight of the boy.
Carefully, she manouvered her way towards him and held her hand out in front of him. "My pupil, it is time for us to leave. I am the mage guardian Irene, honoured to receive you. May you tell me your name."
The boy probably didn't understand what she said, but the green wisps of magic emanating from her hand calmed the little one. He peeked, and she saw a pair of brown doe eyes and tuft of brown messy hair.
Irene was about to scream. The boy was adorable.
"Kookie"
She blinked. "What did you say?" She wondered if the boy was hungry.
"My name. Mom says kook-ah, papa says kookie. Old lady in the market says Jungkook"

The bell chimed as Baekhyun entered the shop. He forgot to pick up the herbs yesterday, and today they had a soul in the Hall. Seokjin nearly killed him but thankfully he had leftovers. They made-do but Jin immediately sent him to get the package. He smiled as he saw who was behind the counter.
"Jungkookie! I forgot to take the herbs yesterday and now Jin wants to feed me to Mark's dog"
The teen boy laughed as he brought a package wrapped in parchment from the back.
"Hyung , this happens with you every time. I don't want my second favourite reaper to die"
Baekhyun pouted. "I thought I was your favourite!"
"Nah. Seokjin hyung's my favourite" Jungkook replied brightly.
He lived a random life, Jungkook thought. He was a 2nd degree mage talking to a Grim reaper in a herb shop that served part time as a supplier for the Funerals and Flowers organisation nearby which so happened to be the Hongdae reaper quarters. Yeah, Jungkook lived a weird life.
"What was that hyung?" Jungkook asked stupidly. He had the habit of zoning out.
"I was saying that from tomorrow onwards a new reaper will come for the deliveries. Don't worry, I'll come with him tomorrow to introduce you guys"
Jungkook immediately wilted. He remembered Baekhyun coming to the shop since he was 11. He got attached to him. His Guardian always warned him not to but he never really listened to that warning well. He knew that reapers were dangerous, since they worked for Death, but he also knew they were once humans.
His Guardian always told him that reapers were originally dead people longing for repentance. He wondered what crime they longed repentance for.
"So you'll not come anymore?"
Baekhyun smiled sadly. "I'll try, but my schedule's going to get busier with the new kid. He's around your age actually"
"What's his name?"
"Kim Taehyung"
