Seokjin smiled uneasily as he turned Yugyeom's cheek around to inspect the damage he had done. He had made sure as to not hit him hard enough for it to hurt.
Jungkook couldn't believe his ears. It was true when people said alcohol always gets you into trouble. Now Irene's eyes held a different glint, something he could only describe as sadness. Jungkook's heart ached. Why did it have to be today of all days.
"I think we should get going now. Thank you for your help, Jin. Tell Baekhyun to drop by tomorrow " Irene said in an exasperated voice.
The tension in the Hall started to dissipate yet Jungkook's worries grew. He glanced towards Taehyung who looked extremely confused with whatever was happening. It seemed as though he'd just woken up, if the messed up hair and pyjamas were anything to go by.
He wasn't gonna lie, Taehyung looked adorable like that.
Jungkook shook the thought out of his head. There were other matters that needed his attention first.
He went over to Yugyeom, who sat with his eyes downcast. Taking one of his hands, he slung it over his shoulders as he stood up.
Irene walked ahead while both boys followed, he mouthed a thank you towards Seokjin, who just smiled with worry in return.
As soon as they stepped out, spirals of amber encircled them. Within seconds, they had reached the living room.
Irene didn't say a single word as she left the room, probably to unpack some of her things. Though as she left, she hesitated on the doorway before asking
"You both did have your food, right?"
To which he replied a timid yes.
"Good, go...clean up and sleep. Goodnight" and she was gone.
As much Jungkook wanted to follow her, he had other matters to take care of. He glanced towards his best friend, who sat with his head hung low. Jungkook crouched in front of him and he felt his heart break.
Tears slowly dripped from Yugyeom's face. He sniffed slightly, as to clear his nose.
"Hey, hey, hey. Don't cry gyeomie. Why would you even cry" Jungkook anxiously said.
"I ruined everything. I-I can't e-even keep m-my mouth s-shut. I-I'm so s-sorry I didn't tell y-you I drank" Yugyeom sniffed.
"No ,don't think about that right now. You didn't ruin anything, though you should've called. But you're safe, and that's all that matters right now" Jungkook said as he wrapped his arms around Yugyeom's neck. The latter clinged to his sweater and silently sobbed.
"I was s-so terrified y-you know. I-I thought I w-was going to die, I-I couldn't even r-remember the w-way back pr-properly..." Yugyeom continued to rant off about his night as his tears eventually stopped. Slowly but surely, he eyes started closing, clouding with sleep.
Jungkook chuckled at his friend. He dragged him back in the room and made him change to cleaner clothes. Just as he finished tucking Yugyeom in and started to leave, Yugyeom grabbed his hand.
"What?" Jungkook asked, as his eyes dropped from sleepiness as well.
"Just that...you were right" his best friend slurred.
"I was? About what?"
"Taehyung's freaking gorgeous"
A slap and a cry followed shortly after.
