2. Best Friends

The next morning was a blur. He'd woken up an hour late and ended up sprinting to his school. Jungkook couldn't afford missing a class, especially since finals were near.

After nearly having a heatstroke from running under the unforgiving Sun, he made it to class and plopped next to his friend Yugyeom. Yugyeom snickered at his miserable state like the best friend he was.

"You do remember we have a Math test today, right?" Yugyeom asked.

"Ofcourse I do. I melted my brain studying last night" Jungkook sighed.

Yugyeom was perhaps Jungkook's oldest friend. They met each other when they were 10 and have been inseparable since. Yugyeom was part of a family of mages despite not being one himself. His grandma was a Floral mage who married a human. His dad was half mage, so he didn't really need to learn magic, since their power is low enough to keep in check. Thus Yugyeom was born.

Yugyeom only had the ability to see through the worlds. He recognised magic and death just as any mage would, but didn't have any himself.

"All of you make sure to revise your textbooks for the Physics quiz next week" The teacher 'reminded.

The class erupted in groans. The the whole day was merciless. The teachers gave hordes of homework and study material. Jungkook was sure he was about to explode. He still had 2 hours of wave and wind coordination control magic lessons along with a herbology test.

"You can crash at my place tonight, we'll go over the stuff together. Oh and you'll have to spill all about this new reaper to me" Yugyeom suggested, packing up.

Jungkook felt horrified at the fact that the meeting was today, and he looked like Beyoncè on drugs.

Chuckling at his expression, Yugyeom slung an arm over his shoulder . "Hey don't sweat it. The guy might actually turn out nice. And if he doesn't. ...then I can always assist you at the shop. Plus if he's mean today, we can mourn together with ice cream"

Jungkook felt a wave of greatfulness invade his heart. Staying at home was pretty lonely but Yugyeom invited him over as often as possible. His parents were accepting of him too.

Smiling, he replied "I'll hold you to that".
