It was time for me to go and take my test. I've been staying up late every night, for the past seven days. My head can't contain any more information, especially so much about vampires. I don't want to know anymore, I hate them. This is all I can take from them. Being a vampire hunter means I will have the right to kill them, even if I have a target and can't kill anyone else, but I will still have an excuse. Perhaps it is for revenge. I don't know.
The head master said that I will take the test in his office. Like all the other tests, he will look after me. I knocked on the door.
"Come in." He said.I walked in. He was sitting on his chair, writing something. I looked next to him, and there was a dagger. Why is there a dagger here? He looked up and smiled at me. I quickly tried to forget about it, and smiled back. There was a desk at the middle of the office.
"Sit." He signaled.
I did as he said, and looked at the paper. It was put on the desk backwards. I looked up at him, and he lifted his hand, telling me I could start. I looked up at the clock. I only have an hour to finish this. I picked up the test. It was thick, I don't think I could finish this is in an hour. But I have to, this isn't suppose to be an easy test. I took a deep breath, picked up the pen given.
It didn't feel right. I was told not to bring a pen, I looked down, and saw only a pencil, but not prepared. I had to slice it down to a pencil. I didn't bring anything, but thought out the dagger. I smiled, and looked up.
"Excuse me, but can I use that dagger?" I asked, quietly.
"Yes, of course."I finished preparing the pencil, and sat back down. Here goes nothing. I flipped over the test. Why are there seven different types of vampires? And how are they categorized. I smiled, I did revise this. I guess all my nights staying up were worth it.
I didn't know how much time past. My shoulder was sore already. I sensed movement, when I looked up, I thought time slowed down, all I saw the dagger fly at me. I didn't have time to to react, all I could do is tilt to the left a little. The dagger flew past me, but didn't cut me. Only a few of my hair was cut down.
I looked up at the head master. His hand was still in the air. I looked back, the dagger was stuck in the wall. I looked back at him, but he was smiling.
"Congratulations, Y/N you past the test." He said,
I looked up at the clock, it has only been fourth minutes. I wasn't even done with half of the test.
"The time isn't up yet." I pointed out.
"Indeed it isn't. But you have past the test." He said.
I furrowed my brows, and looked confused at him. He started laughing."This test isn't about remembering books. If it was, then every one could have past. It is clear that a normal person isn't meant to finish that test. But this isn't about that, this is about your gifts, and instincts." He started, "First off, you looked at your surroundings when first stepping in this office. You noticed the oddly placed dagger, meaning that you have the instinct to check your environment first, crucial for a vampire hunter."
I raised an eyebrow. This is such an odd test.
"Then when you found out that your pencil wasn't ready, you used the things in your environment to solve the problem. This is a skill that vampire hunters need, you will not always have equipment to solve your problems, this is why you need to make uses of your surroundings." He continued, "You noticed the thickness of the test, but touching it, and looked at your time, meaning that you are aware of your tight schedule. And made the according arrangements."
I smiled, how is he knowing all of this?
"Lastly, you sensed my dagger throwing movement, a basic instinct needed for fighting. My dagger thrown would have only cut your face a little, but you successfully dodged it. All these added together means that you have passed the test." He smiled.
"Being a vampire hunter, you can say was planned already. Many can remember things quickly, but not many have the basics of being one. Yet you, luckily, has the gifts. This isn't a test to test your memory, but more of seeing if you can make use of everything around you, and see how prepared are you in fighting."
I looked up, and smiled.
"Ironic." I only said.
"All these information will be given to you in your training. You don't need to memorize this for too long." He said, "You can come to my office tomorrow, and I will tell you the details."I stood up, and saw myself out. I didn't know if I was happy or not. I don't want to be gifted with any of what he said. I want to prove to myself that I can be just as good as a vampire hunter, without all those things.
But at least I did get accepted.
Phew! That was long, and took me long to think of. I hope you guys liked it. I put a lot of effort in this. I told you it wasn't like the other vampire stories there are out there. There are many more things to write about. Just wait.
Thanks for watching, and have a nice day<3
