Chapter 17

*Y/N P.O.V.*

I stared at the head master, not knowing what to say. The two of you seemed like two extremely different types of people, one on one end of the spectrum, and the other on the other end. He was smiling though, not in a creepy way, but in a warm-hearted way.

  "I...I don't know what to say." I said.
  "You don't have to. Forget what I just said, I hope it doesn't disturb you." He said.
  "Ah, okay. It's alright, it won't." I smiled weakly.
  "Do you agree with my decision, of leaving my family? Of building this school for the people who are also suffering due to different causes?"He asked.

  I said nothing, this wasn't something I could be the judge of, and I didn't even know the whole story, though I knew that I was accepted because of the suffering I've been through, this is a much larger topic to discuss.

  "It's alright, I'm just merely asking for an opinion. Think of it as a survey for the school." He said kindly.
  "I agree. No one should be suffering alone." This was the only reason I could think of at the moment.
  "Very well, thank you for your time. I hope into seeing you tomorrow." He nodded his head, and walked away.

I was left shocked. Why did he tell me that? Maybe it's for a test in the future? Do I have to remember all that? I didn't know what to do, what to think. This was so out of the blue, and I had no idea what this was suppose to mean. When I looked up again, the head master was already gone. I shrugged my shoulders, and walked back to my dorm.

I sat on my bed after a hot shower, water still dripping from my hair. I picked up my family portrait, running my thumb over the frame.

"Mom, dad...I got accepted." I said softly, staring at the picture, "I'm going to officially be training into being a vampire hunter now." I said.
"I will kill the people that did this to me, that did this to you..." I said, "don't worry, I'll be careful. I won't let myself die that easily, especially when they're not dead yet."

I put down the frame, and rested my head on the back on my bed. I'm alone now, with no more relatives anymore. This will be my life from now on, and I've made it this way. I can't regret my decision, it's what I wanted, so regretting it would be a waste of time. I took a deep breath, repeating the facts in my brain, telling myself that I have to look forward, and step away from the past.

I went to blow dry my hair, and went to bed early.

The next day, I walked into the head master's office. There were two other people already there. A guy and a girl. All three of them were staring at me.

"Sorry I'm late." I murmured.
"Your not, they got here early. Take a seat, all three of you." The head master said.

We all settled into our chairs.

"The three of you have been chosen to be trained as vampire hunters from now on." The head master started, "this will be no easy task, for you will have to still achieve high on your academics, but at the same time be on schedule for your training as vampire hunters." He started, "It is going to be hard, but I have faith in you all."
"Excuse me, but do you know how long it takes before we can carry on missions as official vampire hunters?" The guy asked.
"That is hard to say. Different people take different amounts of time. Some will take a few months, others might take years. It all depends on how long you train." The head master replied.
"What if we quit?" The girl asked.
"Then you we welcomed to do so now. Vampire hunter training is top secret, so if you know that you can't do it, then you can quit now. If not, then you are not allowed to quit, and if you speak of anything related to this, we will proceed to act accordingly." The head master's expression turned serious.

None of us asked any more questions. I'm not backing down, not when I've finally got here. Not when victory is near sight. I'm not going to, I'm not allowing myself to.

"So, if you don't think you can live up to the standards, then this is your last chance to do so." The head master warned.

We looked at each other, and none of us decided to quit. The head master looked around as well, waiting for anyone to get up and leave, but none of us did.

"Well then, we have agreed upon the matter."
