I turn around to see a tall, skinny guy with glasses on. He had smaller eyes, but it complemented his face well. He had a smiling expression, with small dimples on his cheek. He was holding a few files, and was wearing a white lab coat.
"Hello sir." I said, not knowing what to respond. "I was told to be under you care for the next period of my training here."
I bow, but he seemed flustered by my action, and quickly stopped me from bowing.
"Oh! No need for all that curtesy here. I'm RM, but I prefer to be called Namjoon." He said. "I don't know how much Suga has told you about this place, but I'll give you a brief tour, and introduction of this department."
He handed me a lab coat, and a notepad along with a pen.
"So we're the strategy's department, and we come up with tactics around here. We help guide our hunters through difficult missions, and provide them with help whenever they're caught in a situation they can't get out of." He said.
He leaded me into this office with computers, and cameras. There were many people, some on the computer, some talking into their ears. They were all wearing lab coats. Some were scribbling down notes on their pads, other going through books.
"You must be wondering why the lab coats. And that's because we work closely together with the weapon's department and help them when they need it. So you will need to be ready to get called there to help them. When coming up with new weapons, we deal with chemicals a lot, not only physical weapons, and since we're always on short call, we don't have time to change, so we just decided to wear lab coats." He explained.
I nod, as I quickly jot down everything he says.
"Sir, we have a hunter needing help. They're trapped in an underground facility, all weapons stripped clean, but their communication's device in the ear. He says he doesn't know how long before they find out about the device." A man said coming up.
"How's the signal?" Namjoon asks.
"It's strong, but it keeps getting weaker as time passes." The man replies.
"That means we have little time before the device runs out of battery." Namjoon murmurs. "Tell him to stay on hold, I'll get to him in a few minutes. Tell him to try and extend time by a few hours, and he should be good."The man nods, and walks away repeating what Namjoon just said.
I was impressed with how quickly Namjoon was to deal the situation.
"I know it looks hard, but you'll get the hang of it." He says. "Where was I? Ah yes! We already have a workspace ready for you, but you won't be there too long. Since you're new, you will be working alongside me most of the time you're here, you will be my assistant, so you will be able to see how to deal with situations, that's why you'll need that notepad."
He led me into his office. It was messy, with piles of papers on the ground, books opened and cluttered around his desk. I twist my body, making my through the mess, as he puts down his files, and go through some books.
"Sorry about this mess, I didn't have time to clean up." He says, not even looking at you, his eyes scanning through the lines of text on the book.
"Ah here it is! I knew it, shadow vampires. They're always so sneaky to deal with." He says to himself.
"Sorry, I don't think I quite know what you're talking about." I say.He shoves the book into me.
"Page 261. I suggest you read this when you have down time, sorry if I seem rude, but we have people's lives on our hands. Follow me. Yes, take that book with you. We're going to solve the problem you just heard."
